Adam Beyer & DJ Rush ‘Restore My Soul (Remixes)’

Artist: Adam Beyer & DJ Rush
Title: Restore My Soul (Remixes)
Label: Drumcode
Cat. #: DC260
Format: Digital / Vinyl
Release date: 20 May, 2022 – full EP
Each individual track will be released as a streaming single:
6 May – Adam Beyer & DJ Rush – Control (ANNA Remix)
13 May – Adam Beyer & DJ Rush – Restore My Soul (HI-LO Remix)
20 May – Adam Beyer & DJ Rush – Take Me There (Lilly Palmer Remix)

A stellar trio of techno talent remix Adam Beyer & DJ Rush’s ‘Restore My Soul’.

The original work, released in June 2021, was a highlight on Drumcode and saw Adam Beyer link with the legendary DJ Rush for an inspiring four track EP. Almost a year on and the label has drafted in a triumvirate of top-shelf techno talent to remix the cuts.

ANNA makes her first outing on DC since 2019’s ‘Galactic Highways’ and delivers a searing rework of ‘Control’ that mixes up her patented brand of stadium sized sonics with a fierce acid stomp throughout the second half of the track. HI-LO follows up his debut EP ‘Hypnos’ with a heavy dose of low-end funk as he reworks the title track retaining the original’s hypnotic bassline and building upon it to craft a beefed-up weapon. Fresh off her brilliant ‘We Control’ EP, Lilly Palmer launches ‘Take Me There’ into some serious brain-spangling territory as crunchy drums and a barrage of trippy synths send the track into orbit.

PACKSHOT Tracy Pearl - II - Unknown Rec

Tracy Pearl ‘II’

Artist: Tracy Pearl
Title: II
Label: Unknown Rec
Cat. #: 001
Format: Digital
Release Date: 20th May 2022
Tracklist:
1) II A
2) II B

4) II D

Tracy Pearl debuts their Unknown Rec label this May with the glossy, breaks tinged EP ‘II’.

Hailing from Southern California, DJ and producer Tracy Pearl drops four eclectic cuts across their new project ‘II’ to mark the launch of Unknown Rec.

Lead track ‘II A’ is a bassy, wobbly affair, harnessing broken percussion and ghostly echoes, before rich, warm tones carry the slick ‘II B’ awash with lengthy, glistening pads which shape this deep production. Next, choppy vocals ride driving low-ends in the off-kilter ‘II C’ as harmonious keys are juxtaposed with drum and bass influenced breakdowns. To close, jazzy motifs and menacing hats get down with rolling low-ends and sweeping samples as a fitting finale to this rich tapestry of music.

ZOiD ‘Dexaphonic EP’

Artist: ZOiD
Title: Dexaphonic EP
Label: Metamorphic Recordings
Cat. #: MET039
Format: Vinyl / Digital
Release Date: 10 June 2022
Tracklist:
A1. Space Station Dexaphonic
A2. Space Station Dexaphonic (John Tejada remix)
B1. 9713Poochy
B2. 9713Poochy (Dan Curtin remix)

Spanning over decades, Metamorphic Recordings has become a staple name amongst the realms of discerning house and low-end leaned techno, and the 39th release is a sure sign the label are showing no signs of slowing down the pace. Dublin based ZOiD is the artist of choice here, the electronic and jazz musician showcasing his genre straining sound with two slick and innovative cuts, writing the narrative for the ‘Dexaphonic EP’. The originals are in fine company as pioneer of the game John Tejada turns out a remix on the A side, with label founder Dan Curtin joining in the festivities on the B side.

Sparkling in the hazy early hours with a pure and emotional charm is ‘Space Station Dexaphonic’. The transcending and otherworldly synths all converse in harmony around precise and intricately placed drum patterns. Hi-tek jazz for the tastemakers amongst us. Complementing the opening track is John Tejada’s remix, feel good energy once more, with a vintage Tejada twist. Structured around an elasticated rolling bass and teased by an enticing vocal sample.

Steering in a more raw and industrial direction on the B side is ZOiD’s ‘9713Poochy’, a five-minute trip with rugged foundations at the core. Moving in quirky and mechanical motions from the get go, driven by an enormous kick at the wheel. Dan Curtin breathes an alternative lease of life into the original with his unconventional sound. The crisp broken drums create an irresistible groove, allowing the ethereal textures to work their magic.

Timeless music once more from the Metamorphic imprint, carefully curated by Berlin based Dan Curtin, inviting artists of old and new, allowing them to have total freedom with their sound and run wild.

Fred Lenix & Dino Lenny ‘Motivator’

Artist: Fred Lenix & Dino Lenny
Title: Motivator
Label: Truesoul
Cat. #: TRUE12146
Release date: 6 May, 2022
Format: Digital

Future star Fred Lenix links with seasoned production ace Dino Lenny for a debut collaboration that signals the start of a well-matched union.

Firmly established with a stacked discography that reaches back to the ‘90s, Dino Lenny’s arsenal can be sourced across a myriad of prominent labels, making his Truesoul debut long-awaited. Fred Lenix, in turn, is still on a high after his triumphant maiden EP on Truesoul late last year, ‘Somewhere’. The future-facing release stood as a label highlight in 2021 and signalled the artist’s arrival as a promising force on Truesoul moving forward.

With Maceo Plex being an unwitting matchmaker in inviting them both onto Ellum Audio’s label sampler last year, the pair began swapping demos with frequent exchanges soon establishing that a tripped-out collaboration was on the cards.

Title track ‘Motivator’ is an evolving synth-driven dispatch loaded with a powerful, stabbing loop that blends with its robotic soundscape and creates a futuristic ambience. ‘Psycho Under Pressure’ cuts like a blistering raid through the cosmos as pulverising, climatic elements and distorted spoken word gives the duo’s laser-focused techno the space to impress.

Manchester’s Sumer Of Love announce talks

Set in a disused warehouse district, the not so secret party will be two days of hedonism with a touch of education

Hosted by Foundation FM, the Summer Of Love will feature talks, panels, and workshops on both days of the event. Running from 12pm – 5pm, they’ll cover topics around diversity in music, talks with promoters, and the life of a touring DJ. The offering aims to add some more depth to an intricate event that arcs back to the 90’s rave scene. Francesco del Garda and Evan Baggs will be bringing the heat and taking over the special guest slot while the stage designs have expanded for this year’s event with added partners making this a northern powerhouse of fun in the sun. Tickets are on sale with early birds starting at £40 for the day taking place from 27th – 28th August 2022

For those looking to reignite the rave days, the Summer Of Love has set up a hotline detailing some hidden information not yet revealed to the public. Rather than the fabled location of the rave, calling 0800-SUMMER-IS-CALLING has some other surprises in store. Maybe callers will win something?

Taking place across the wellness area the informative talks will host some titans of industry from DJs like tINI chatting through the tINI & The Gang parties, to promoters like Kurt Hurst from Hide & Seek festival offering insight into a world that few know about. Expect other talks from slapfunkYoyaku and Olli Ryder, founder of Summer Of Love. Further chats revolve around music mastering, NFT’s, touring DJs, and more. Workshops include spoken word, live art and the mighty drum circle run by Smolensky Gallery.

Olli Ryder, founder of Summer Of Love says “To expand on the community-based elements of the festival was always key for us progressing into year two, the heart and soul of the experiences comes from all the little extra communication points. For us to be working with so many amazing partners across the musical and experiential programming fills you with delight for the summer ahead”

The weekend stage splits have revealed the musical evolution expected across both days. Saturday’s highlights clearly push towards Mr G, Nicholas Lutz, Craig Richards B2B Ben UFO and Traumer B2B Christi Cons. Sunday comes in just as hot with Francesca Del Garda, Eris Drew, A:RPiA:R with Dyed Soundorom B2B Shonky.

The Summer Of Love 2022 is set to be Animal Crossing’s most ambitious project yet, with a diverse lineup of international artists, extensive arts and wellness programmes, and an onsite record fair and food market. It’s not to be missed.

Eugenio Preatoni

Tania Vulcano, Magda, Yaya, Dense & Pika (Live), Amine Edge & Dance headline

https://www.releaseldn.com

From its home at London’s Studio 338, Release has quickly become one of the UK’s most fresh and forward-thinking parties. They have hosted a number of sold out events including a huge New Year’s Eve celebration and now the party rolls into the White Isle. The home for it is the newly refurbished and already legendary Es Paradis. As one of the oldest club’s on the White Isle it has a stripped back feel, a music centric party vibe and punchy sound systems as well as retractable roof for unique open air dancing experiences.

This summer it will be home to a Release residency that will offer a proper place to party away from the expensive table service and VIP fuss of many other places. The afternoon-into-evening party will therefore have a unique feel that takes you back to the early, no nonsense days of Ibiza.

The first party for this game-changing season will be headlined by queen of DC10 Tania Vulcano who makes an earth shattering switch to Release this Summer, Richie Hawtin’s Minus superstar Magda, with a bag full of her trademark space-disco minimal and acclaimed Italian Yaya who brings his African roots to his hypnotic and groovy sounds on labels like Desolat and his own Tamango Records.

Next up are UK techno titans Dense & PIka who have had many big releases on labels like Drumcode, plus Sankeys regulars and French duo Amine Edge & Dance, Music On favourites Neverdogs and a serious serving of sleezy, and Cocoon imprinted Fabe with more from Andrew Kay and Bl_k Noise man Hypoxia.

This limited capacity Opening party will sell out, so move quickly to secure your place on the legendary dance floor.
