Bacanadera Butterfly is the return journey of the unconscious through the images, sounds, emotions rediscovered in the first Bananadera.
Jazz, Funk, instruments and suggestions of South American music take on more European connotations, are enriched with more lounge atmospheres and a greater presence of sinths.
While remaining influenced by the magic of tribal rhythms, the evocative atmospheres are more familiar. However, the dreamy and psychedelic imaginative dream that reveals itself with its rarefied and indefinable sounds, poised between the present, the past and the future, remains unchanged and at times even more meaningful. The amalgamation and contrast of instruments with warm and cold, ethnic and synthetic tones, transports the listener through an unpredictable and evocative path. It is the baggage of experiences made while discovering a distant land that, during the return trip, seeks a motivation to transform itself into a motivational drive that can be decisive for the change in the life that will be.
It is the transformation of the worm into a butterfly. The awareness of the inevitable change that every intense experience generates in ourselves. And just as the caterpillar turns out to be a butterfly, so, “Bacanadera Butterfly” stimulates us to fly towards new states of consciousness…

The track features no big stunts but places the emphasis on its evolving dark atmosphere. Relentlessly pushing forward, this track has the hypnotic dance floor factor we appreciate very much. “Tensity” is a funky heavy monster with some short intervals into other regions. The dark voice contributes to the steady coolness of this ep. It connects to the other tracks in terms of mood with sounds simmering to build up tension step by step. “Unknown” is an accelerating atmospheric techno track. Working with a skilled build up that inflates the sound side of things, the track pulls out all tricks including a powerful break to have all systems active and performing on a high level for the dance floor. Artist: Ian Pooley Title: Studio A Pt.3 Label: Rekids Cat. #: REKIDS208 Format: Vinyl / Digital Release Date: 16th September 2022 Tracklist: A1 PSS 480 A2 SP12 Electric Mistress B1 Viola B2 SP12 Electric Mistress (303 Version)
Ian Pooley returns to Rekids with Studio A Pt.3 this September.
The third and final entry in a three-part release series based on his studio, Ian Pooley’s ‘Studio A Pt. 3’ for Radio Slave’s imprint sees him drop yet another set of bumping, hardware-focussed tracks.
Leading the A-side, ‘PSS480’ combines swinging drums, modulated low end, and trippy bleeps for a party-starting house track. ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ brings flanged-out drums and lush pads together for a wonky yet driving cut. On the flip, ‘Viola’ sees Pooley heading toward heavier territories with rumbling kicks and heaving synths forming a pumping techno track before the ‘303 Version’ of ‘SP12 Electric Mistress’ closes out the EP, introducing tweaked-out acid lines and freaky FX to the original version.
Active since the early 90s, the German DJ/producer has released on the likes of Force Inc, V2 Records, and his own Pooledmusic, remixing for the likes of Deee-Lite, Carl Cox and many more, as well as being one of the few to be remixed by Daft Punk.
Artist: Luca Donzelli Title: Danny Collateraly EP Remixer: Fabe Label: LOCUS Cat. #.: LOCUS020 Format: Vinyl / Digital Release: 16th September (EP) / 23rd September 2022 (Remix) Tracklist 1. Raver Danny 2. Danny Collateraly 3. Chromaphonic 4. Chromaphonic (Fabe Remix)
Luca Donzelli makes his LOCUS debut with his ‘Danny Collateraly’ EP, with Fabe joining on remix duties.
A DJ and producer at the heart of Amnesia Ibiza’s programming, Pyramid resident Luca Donzelli is stepping things up as an artist to take note of. Having touched down on labels such as Hot Creations, MicroHertz, ORIGINS RCRDS, Heavy House Society, the Morositas boss, and Wow! Recordings A&R now heads to LOCUS as he drops his ‘Danny Collateraly’ EP. Returning alongside him, Salty Nuts label head and Mannheim favourite Fabe also joins the party with a typically slick remix.
‘Raver Danny’ is a lively opener as Donzelli merges rumbling basslines with skippy drums and hazy pads for a powerful jump into the peak-time, while title cut ‘Danny Collareraly’ combines dubby pads with rolling percussion, zipping electronics, and vibrant vocal interjections. Next up, ‘Chromaphonic’ keeps the energy high with a spirited and peppery balance of rubbery bass licks, sweeping synths, and tough kicks, before Fabe’s take on the production marches forth armed with jacking drums, eerie interludes, and an infectious two-step groove.
Jon Hester returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects with a thundering four-track techno EP.
Previously appearing on Rekids with his two-part ‘Converge’ album released across 2020 and 2021 after multiple EPs on Rekids Special Projects, Jon Hester now readies his next release, ‘Action EP’. A no-holds-barred presentation of the Berlin-based DJ/producer’s latest upfront techno, the release shows Hester in fine form as he returns to the Rekids universe.
Leading the release, ‘Scrape’ sees densely reverberated hits spar with pumping kicks and rattling percussion, leading into the trippy metallic synths, textured claps, and sparse pads of ‘Blinker’. ‘Sirens’ ignites the dance floor with a cacophony of sirens and drum machines taking the lead, before ‘Arise’ rounds out the release with wonky low-end, FX-laden hits and vocal gasps.
“These tracks mark the return to our beloved dance floors. Direct, no-frills, punchy cuts to make you move. Action!” – Jon Hester
Mathias Schaffhäuser drops a deep and techy EP on Canadian record label Suleiman and it also features a remix by Dub Taylor.
Based in the German city of Cologne, Mathias Schaffhäuser is a veteran producer who has been releasing music since the ’90s. During his career, he’s built up an impressive back catalogue including releases on influential record labels like Kompakt, Souvenir Music and Third Ear Recordings.
Dub Taylor is a German artist living in Berlin and his remix on this release is a stripped back and dubby track. He is also known for his Tigerskin alias and he has released on record labels such as Exploited, Get Physical, Katermukke and Dirt Crew Recordings.
This hypnotic release has analogue textures fused with dance floor percussion and trippy atmospherics.
“Collapsing Collabs” opens the release with its pulsating synth line that fizzes with modulation. Stabbing synths cut through the groove and fade into the distance with a touch of delay, while the driving percussion provides the forward momentum.
Dub Taylor’s remix of Collapsing Collabs strips away the original’s lead synth to make room for additional atmospherics. Adding a vocal sample and dubby pads, his spine-tingling rework is a majestic work of art.
“Magnificent Madness” is the second of the original tracks and it closes out the EP with its quirky groove consisting of gritty percussion and acid synth stabs. The heavy kick drum and stomach churning synth pad make the track feel as exhilarating as a rollercoaster ride.

Artist: Voice Of Baceprot Title: School Revolution Remix EP Label: 12WIRED Release Date: Tuesday, September 20 2022 Tracklist: 1. School Revolution (Timo Maas/Andre Winter School’s Out Re-Bang) 2. School Revolution (Indra7 Remix) 3. School Revolution (SM Judge Us Mix) 4. Voice Of Baceprot ‘School Revolution Hyper’s Krakatoa’ Deconstruction 5. School Revolution (Winky Wiryawan & Evan Virgan Remix) 6. School Revolution (Feel Koplo Remix)
During the early days of Voice Of Baceprot (VOB), the rock trio from Garut held a collective displeasure towards the education system that governed schools across Indonesia. This notion left a mark not only in their minds but also through their debut single “School Revolution”, which voiced out their sentiments.
Released back in 2018, “School Revolution” has since been recognised as the definitive introduction to VOB, their unique sound, and their positive messages based on their experience and observations. It brought the band to the attention of the music industry on a wider scale as it powerfully expressed their stance as a band that will not back down under threats of bullying, unfounded judgments, and injustice. It is a stance that they have managed to maintain even to this day.
On its fourth year of release, VOB have decided to commemorate the single that kickstarted their journey by re-release it in the form of different remixed versions. The band reached out to six renowned DJs and producers from around the globe – each with their own different style of music – to refashion the song. All six remixes will be compiled into one electrifying EP and released at the same time.
Below are the DJs and producers involved in this EP and what they have to say about their participation:
Timo Maas & Andre Winter (DE) “When we heard the original song and also the story about VOB, it really was a no brainer to work on this and do a modern electronic re-interpretation. It`s a very unique project and the remix also works VERY well in clubs and on festivals!”
Hyper (UK): “When I heard this track and was told the band were an all-female three piece, prepared to wear confrontational outfits on stage to make a stand against oppression. I had to! Punk as f*ck!
The native chorus seemed, to me, to be the essence of the track, thus I added traditional Indonesian percussion instruments to the remix, to emphasise that idea further, and I love it.
I’ve already been playing this out to a great response on tour with The Crystal Method and can’t wait to see this out there finally.”
Indra7 (ID): “Remixing songs with common grounds of music with mine, i.e electronic music, won’t be as much of a challenge for me. But VOB’s ‘School Revolution’ was totally a different beast. It pulled me out of my comfort zone as a remixer/electronic music producer. Thus, I am grateful to be given this opportunity. Rock on VOB!”
Winky Wiryawan & Evan Virgan (ID): “When we we’re being offered to remix a song from VOB, me and Evan didn’t think twice to accept. Because I like rock/metal music myself and Evan also likes genre breaks. It was a new experience for both of us remixing a local rock band with a lot of weight. We hope a lot of success for VOB in the future!”
Sic Mynded (ID): “Sic Mynded’s interest in remixing ‘School Revolution’ stems from when Oddie, our vocalist, found a post from VOB on Facebook in early 2017 and was immediately impressed by the passion and courage these three musicians had in voicing their music and ideals. When offered to remix this song, Sic Mynded unhesitatingly agreed.
Lyrically this song really describes the inner voice of the members. What is rock music if you don’t have the guts to critique? Musically, Sic Mynded deliberately deconstructs this song so that it is reborn in a different beat without losing its soul. Because, ‘School Revolution’ is the epitome of VOB.”
Feel Koplo (ID) “We felt it was a calling. We felt a spiritual connection with Voice Of Baceprot in terms of our rip-roaring music’s ability to make people move, the way we do not differentiate people by class (everyone’s the same in metal and dangdut), and how we defy the status quo of the music industry and the music scene.
Musically, we think that “School Revolution” is a gem of a song already, so we took a different approach when it came to remixing the track. Instead of giving it a touch of dangdut, we opted to create a new dangdut song.”
