Artist: ADIN Title: Spring Of Perspective (LP) Label: DREEF Records Cat. #: DREEF013 Format: Digital Release Date: 28th October 2022 Tracklist 1. Capricious 2. Holistic Planet 3. I Hear You Calling 4. Cranium 5. Radians 6. Meiosis 7. Serpentine 8. Spring Of Perspective 9. The Patch 10. Will The Sides Hold
ADIN readies his first album project ‘Spring Of Perspective’ on his home label DREEF, unveiling ten hypnotic and entrancing productions from across the electronic sphere.
Embedded within the global electronic music scene for over two decades, yet continually building new projects and moving in new directions, Ajdin Begovic is a DJ, producer and label boss with a journey more unique than most. From his war-torn birthplace of Bosnia to early musical beginnings in a Rotterdam record store, he quickly established his presence on the worldwide touring scene, with his technical ability behind the decks gaining him plaudits from leading outlets including the likes of Rolling Stone. Featuring at Mysteryland, Thuishaven, Womb (Tokyo), Creamfields and Elrow alongside EDC performances in New York, Orlando, Mexico, Japan and Las Vegas, his ADIN alias is now at the heart of his focus, building his signature sound while amassing support from Joris Voorn, Nic Fanciulli, Maya Jane Coles, Hot Since 82 and more. Building on a series of impressive EPs, late-October marks a significant milestone as the Rotterdam-based talent unveils his first album under the guise ‘Spring Of Perspective’ – with the ten-track long player set for release on his home label, DREEF Records.
Opening with the organic, slow-blooming sonics of ‘Capricious’, the project slowly builds and evolves into a rich journey through wide-spanning sonics across the electronic sphere. ‘Holistic Planet’ immediately ups the energy, combining sweeping pads and trippy electronics with a rich bassline at the track’s core, while ‘I Hear You Calling’ delves into more melodic spheres to balance airy serene melodies with brooding synths. Tracks such as ‘Cranium’ and ‘Radians’ take more stripped-back approaches, revisiting those organic textures while still bringing their unique nuances and warping tones, while ‘Meiosis’ and ‘Serpentine’ launch bright, powerful melodic trips to transport listeners to the heart of the dancefloor.
Title track ‘Spring Of Perspective’ arrives next, curating and creating a captivating journey through soaring leads balanced by wandering melodies, rolling drums and snaking grooves to craft an entrancing production and keep dancers in lockstep. Closing the show, penultimate production ‘The Patch’ and final offering ‘Will The Sides’ inject one last surge of energy, delivering two colourful and impactful cuts that harness the sound of ADIN as an artist and DREEF as a label. Showcasing ten productions highlighting his ever-evolving style, ‘Spring Of Perspective’ brings an exhibit of ADIN’s talents as a producer and marks an album set to take the project to the next level.
Returning to our label with their second EP, we are happy to welcome back Japanese-born brothers SUDO – very well known to techno-heads around the world for their releases on luminous labels such as SCI+TEC, Minus, Mood or 100%Pure, just to name a few. With their new tracks already road-tested on heavy rotation in my recent sets, make sure not to miss out. This is Sudo’s new EP: Domain! Including a fantastic remix from Japanese legend Ken Ishii.
Artist: Jesse Bru Title: Sleazy F.M. EP Label: Last Year At Marienbad [Oath sublabel] Cat. #: LYAM002 Format: Digital, vinyl Release Date: November 11th 2022
Grooves to glide through life to, a simmering rhythmic embrace that carries along the soul and lifts the heart to cloud 9, taking away the aches and ills and serving to place the floor in an enchanted space, ethereal and euphoric, up above the clouds….
Jesse Bru makes music from the heart, a peer to peer connection that works on a multitude of levels, and this all comes about from the approaches he makes within his style. Primarily residing within the realms of House and Deep House music, Vancouver based Bru took much creative guidance from the techniques embedded with 90s hip hop, and translated this over four on the floor rhythms to much celebrated reception. The music he crafts feels interconnected as a result, never over hyping or building itself into a climax, it simply floats along effortlessly, a continued and delicately considered symbiosis of rhythm and melody that he has constantly tinkered with – and his discography speaks for itself. Releasing on a who’s who of excellent contemporary dance music labels, Bru has always found room within his sound for growth and reflection, with each new release feeling like a meditation on all that has come before and thus provides fuel for sustained brilliance. His works read so well as a collection but the individual stanzas within each release are a perfect snapshot of all he is capable of. Some selected highlights include ‘Roach Fingers’ (released in 2015 via Egoplanet), ‘Space Jazz’ (released in 2017, via Rhombus), ‘Ships in the Night’ (released in 2018 via Inhale Exhale), ‘Rainforest’ (released earlier this year, via Aterral), and of course, his debut LP ‘The Coast’, which was released on Happiness Therapy in 2020.
His latest release, ‘Sleazy F.M’, arriving this November on Last Year At Marienbad, continues onwards with his more recent excursions into overtly 90s feeling House music, and this period of his musical output is truly something to behold. Razor sharp fast paced rhythms, delicate melodic sequences, and an overall air of breezy yet energetic energies, this new EP continues to peak our interest and showcase just what Bru is capable of. The opener, ‘Feel It’, is a burner of the highest quality, as a hugely scaled beat structure provides the basis for a rolling chord sequence to do the damage up top, its presence residing just beneath the hats as filtered vocal samples float in and out of view to great effect. The breakdowns really hammer home the emotive levels, as stabs are placed within the groove for maximum impact. ‘In a Moment’ arrives next, and this takes the pace down ever so slightly, but the craft remains at a very high level indeed. The relationship between rhythm and melody is consistent, a tad more sultry here as we sway to the beat, with the vocal work here particularly effective at setting the mood. ‘Noodle King’ adds some adrenaline into the experience, with the choppy breaks pointing all fingers to the dance. The chords that drive on through into the spotlight only serve to fuel the energy, with the extended breakdown aiding us as we climb our way towards euphoria. Last but not least, the title track, which returns us to the notions of the opener, and as a final chapter its a very satisfying send off. Rolling, lick filled beats, dreamy subtle chordal twinkles, and an atmosphere to die for, its a pleasure ride, and its time to get on board.
If you ever find yourself needing something rhythmically pulsating in your life, then this record is for you, as Jesse Bru continues to impress with his ever evolving yet indefinitely precise take on House. A cut for all times of the day or set, this is House music to delve deep within, an invitation to get to know all the beats and clicks, swimming between the layers as if to soak up every last morsal of goodness. Summer might be over, but Jesse Bru and Last Year At Marienbad have the cure for those cold chills. So go on, treat yourself, its well worth the ride….
October sees Spain’s Pushmann delivering his ‘Augua D’o Binies’ EP on Hardgroove, which features a collaboration with VIL and an edit from label-boss Ben Sims.
Across the five tracks on ‘Augua D’o Binies’, Pushmann harnesses the sort of rugged, shuffling funk that permeates most Hardgroove releases. From the slow-burning intensity of opener ‘Hydnum’ to the breathless undulations of Sims’ powerful edit of Pushmann’ and Vil’s ‘Fluxo’, the whole EP balances sleek electronic sounds with gritty or organic touches. ‘Ephemera’, ‘Huecha’, and ‘Felleus‘ exploit vocal samples alongside their dense, swinging rhythms and crafty melodies to create little those little ‘real’ moments throughout.
Pushmann, aka Victor M, has released for Be As One, Symbolism, Uncage and his own N&N whilst becoming a firm favourite across the myriad of techno clubs of his native Spain over the past decade. Pushmann releases have seen consistent support from the likes of James Ruskin, Ben Sims, Slam, Mark Broom, and Truncate.
Artist: Procombo Title: Shadows EP Label: Rekids Special Projects Cat. #: RSPX47 Format: Digital Release Date: 21st October 2022 Tracklist: 01. Shadows 02. You Know 03. Dance Of The Sines 04. Fury 05. Escape
Procombo drops ‘Shadows EP’ on Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects this October.
Fresh from his ‘U Wanna’ release on Rekids Special Projects in September, Istanbul techno staple Procombo drops another five-track techno EP on Radio Slave’s label. Active in Istanbul’s techno scene since the mid ’90s, Procombo heads up RX Recordings, an offshoot of the vital RX Istanbul club in the city.
“This EP has a few tracks that I’ve been working on since the beginning of the year for the funkier, groovier side of things. I like working by making catchy and creative loops and adding sprinkles of vocals, so this EP is just an end result of what I wanted to achieve. Releasing two EPs in two months for one of techno’s top labels is a great honour and I want to thank Matt for the opportunity” – Procombo.
Artist: Maxime Denuc Title: Nachthorn Label: Vlek Cat. #: VLEK36 Format: Digital, vinyl Release Date: October 21st 2022 Tracklist: A1 Edo A2 Infinite End A3 Düsseldorf A4 Agoraphobia B1 Ouverture B2 Function Music B3 Papillons B4 Fat Old Sun
After having made his solo debuts in 2020 with the release of his LP Solarium on Vlek, Brussels-based electronic music composer Maxime Denuc returns to the Belgian record label with Nachthorn, an 8-track piece recorded on the main organ of St. Antonius Church in Düsseldorf.
Nachthorn takes its name from one of the 78 stops that make up the main organ from St. Antonius Church. This instrument, equipped with a system developed by the German company Sinua, offers the possibility of controlling all of its keyboards and timbres via a computer: the organ thus became a powerful synthesizer.
“With this MIDI organ I have controlled with my own softwares, I fulfilled an old dream of mine: to create an entirely acoustic dance music piece with the organ as sole actor”
Oscillating between dub techno, harmonic locked grooves and after-hours pop, Nachhorn offers a hypnotic music piece whose lines sketch the outline of an imaginary warehouse. Armed with arpeggiators, bouncy chords, the brilliance of organ sounds and a unique vision of a minimalist rave, Maxime Denuc plunges us into his singular vision of a drumless party that will delight both church music enjoyers and afterparty nightbirds.

Kicking off the EP, Amsterdam-based DJ/producer and Contempo label boss Luigi Madonna delivers a blinding interpretation of Nicole Moudaber and Alan T’s ‘The Volume’, bringing pumping kicks and wonky FX over elements of the original. For his remix, Flug, who has released on the likes of CLR, SOMA, Rekids, and more, takes on ‘What Is’, reaching for darker soundscapes, with twisted atmospherics swirling around robust drums and dense synthesis.
Nicole Moudaber, the founder of label, party, and radio show MOOD, has been at the forefront of house and techno for over a decade, regularly appearing at esteemed festivals and venues such as Glastonbury, Coachella, DC-10, and Space Ibiza.
