While it’s quiet in the streets, it’s loud all over in the studios – one thing that no one can stop! For the 28th edition of ‚as usual.’ releases, we are onboarding three new faces with a distinctive sense for brisk underground music. On the main part, there’s one of Berlin’s highly demanded artists in these days – charming CASIMIR VON OETTINGEN, who brings tons of freshness with two originals of catchy minimal music. The remixers are YULIA NIKO, who had an enormous output in the recent times on labels like Deeperfect, Hottrax, Crosstown Rebels or Get Physical. And then there’s Zürich-based NADER who is a protagonist in the scene since the early 90’s and well-known in the city and above for his unique style.

Casimir’s original of the title track feels like a cool shower on sweaty days and has everything that a non-categorizable minimal tune needs at these days. ‚Brepps’ stands out by finding the perfect balance between stripped-down rhythmics, low-boosting curves plus a sincere sweetness and humour.

First reintepretation comes from Berlin-based Russian artist Yulia Niko, who injects her soft spot for subtly reduced sounds, and adds an embracing warmth and deepness on the silky lead sphere and vocal cuts. Quite inviting for gentle moves on the floor and hovering beyond.

Dirtyness comes by Swiss guy Nader by exhuming his old 303! Acid never dies and appears after all these years as one of the strongest instruments ever in eletronic dance music. Nader takes us on trip and combines smartly the old and the new, and always keeps in mind that it’s the remix of ‚Brepps’.Massive rework!

Last but not least, we get lost once again with „Endlos“ resident Casimir’s ‚Dollop’ and we don’t want to find the exit. Light-footedly he seduces us into his world of profound sequences on shaking minimalistic rhythms – effective as hell. Timeless stuff that spends full satisfaction and catches us by the eternal passion for loops.

I Love Acid release previously vinyl-only catalogue digitally

The vinyl-only imprint has reversed its decision to limit output to physical releases as well as forgo its share of digital income in order to aid its artists during the current crisis.

‘I’ve always stood by the choice of vinyl-only releases in the face of being called elitist and now I’m going to be called a hypocrite by some who feel it devalues their vinyl purchases but some of the artists I’m working with have lost most of their income so, fuck it, this needs to happen and we’ll return to vinyl-only in future’ says label founder and Posthuman member, Josh Doherty.

The label’s catalogue, bar a handful of releases, is now available via the label’s Bandcamp Page with all funds going directly to the artists involved.

Release Date: 10th April 2020

  2. Rounding
  3. Maximum Width (Rich NxT Remix)
  4. Amber Road

Planetary Notions boss Joe Rolét debuts on Infuse to open April with his ‘Maximum Width’ EP, backed by a remix from Rich NxT.

A rising name within his home city of London, Joe Rolét is a DJ and producer whose passion for subbed out club music with a cosmic twist has seen him become one of the scenes hotly tipped talents – a sound that’s also reflected in full via his bubbling label, Planetary Notions. Releasing music from artists such as Per Hammar, Lopaski, stevn.aint.leavn and Desert Sound Colony whilst welcoming the likes of Vlad Caia and more to join as guests on the imprint’s Rinse FM show, 2020 now sees Rolét follow up releases via Beeyou, Courtesy Of Balance and his own Planetary Notions imprint as he makes a debut label appearance on Infuse with his ‘Maximum Width’ EP this April, accompanied by a remix of the title cut provided from FUSE resident Rich NxT.

Lead cut ‘Maximum Width’ sees Rolét introduce his blend of slinking, reduced grooves atop of bumping low-ends whilst working an infectious vocal throughout, whilst ‘Rounding’ sees warped synths, off-kilter melodies and further tripped out vocal snippets come to the fore. On the flip, FUSE favourite Rich NxT puts his stamp on the title track in impressive fashion as he raises the tempo and introduces sizzling bass stabs and rolling hats, before rounding out proceedings with the hypnotic ‘Amber Road’ – a paired back cut that harnesses soaring sci-fi leads and wriggling percussion arrangements to great effect to shape up an impressive debut offering.

The last apparition of Rodriguez Jr. on Mobilee is given by ‘Bliss’, that’s his third album on the same label and it features 8 delicious tracks. Mobilee has been the home for the french artist for a long time, that’s really appreciable and show us the importance of label families, a thing that is fading down in the last years.
Focusing on the album, all the productions feature the eclectic and versatile sound proposed by the producer, which floods the audio spectrum with his deep house style, revealing a satisfying opening to contaminations and introducing delicate instruments like strings, pads and female vocals too. The approach to music production has been solid and decise, providing sometimes malicious vibes and sometimes smooth and dreamy scenarios.

Title: Marco Bailey presents: 20 Years Of MB Elektronics
Label: MB Elektronics

Release Date: April 27th 2020

Marco Bailey is going to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his label MB Elektronics with the publication of a track ensemble, it features some of the most important tracks that came out from the label’s catalogue.
Listening to the compilation make us conscious about the techno music excursus from 1999 to 2020, during the ages many influences affected this relevant genre like minimal, hard trance, industrial and so on. It would be too long to mention all the contaminations detected in each of the 20 tracks, but we can say that seeing again names like The Advent & Industrializer, Joey Beltram, Tom Hades, Speedy J and Steve Rachmad bring us back to some great productions listened in the past.

Various ‘World Wide Window’

In light of the current Covid-19 Pandemic Studio Enisslab headed up by Italian DJ / Producer and Live Act Neel has announced the release of a very special 56 track charity compilation project, fundraising for The Red Cross, who are working extremely hard alongside health services internationally that are feeling the effects of the corona-virus outbreak the most right now.

This special release features over 6 hours of previously unreleased and unheard material, where an all star cast of artists were encouraged to share and produce music that reflects this time we are living in.

Neel, who is one half of live duo Voices From The Lake, and LF58 speaks out on behalf of the initiative, organised in collaboration with improvised live project Circle Of Live, and visual art collective Sbagliato. He explains:

“In this situation we all need to look after each other and this project is a start. I wanted to reach as many people as possible to spread this message, so I started to share the idea personally with lots of artists and the response was amazing. I wanted them to take their time with whichever tools they had available at home to produce some music that reflects this time we are living in, a contribution for this special project and to portray a special message.”

The project’s cover art image brought to you by visual art collective Sbagliato shows pictures of windows of houses and studios taken by the artists themselves: 56 musicians, 56 windows, 56 tracks shape a new place of sharing.
