House music and its derivates: in this cold January we found a juicy 15 track long composition made by the minds of Ezel and Rona Ray. Their ‘Take Me Home LP’ is filled with smooth and warm sonorities, elements that explore the realms of classy and touching music. While moving mostly into deep house and soulful fields, the various songs create dreamy scenarios, where everyone can feel comfortable and feel intimate vibes. Aside the ace instrumentals, the vocals of Rona Ray play a fundamental part, giving to the whole album theme that particular touch which is missing in most of the contemporary productions. ‘Forest Gump’, ‘Floating’ and ‘History Repeating’ are just three of the best productions of the LP, the selection is wide and there’s something to suit everybody’s tastes.
Eraldo Bernocchi (musician and sound designer) meets the Japanese born violinist and electronic music producer Hoshiko Yamane for the creation of ‘Sabi’, an intriguing and contemporary sounding album released in mid December 2023 on Denovali. This is their second long composition ever made, which features a mixture between drone, electronica, modern classical and ambient: the whole result is fascinating but enigmatic, in the attempt to represent as its best the meaning of the album title. As stated in the press release, “Sabi is a Japanese aesthetic that celebrates the beauty of impermanence and decay. It is often associated with the simplicity, austerity, and solitude found in nature, and is said to evoke a sense of melancholy, nostalgia, and reverence for the passage of time.”.

ICONIC HOUSE MUSIC VOCALIST KATHY BROWN DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 4 CANCER – GOFUNDME APPEAL AND FUNDRAISING SINGLE
Late last year, the internationally celebrated house music vocalist and chart-topping diva Kathy Brown was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which has now spread to her brain. The news came as a total shock to her family, friends and fans as it resulted in an emergency operation. Kathy is currently undergoing a course of radiotherapy and immunotherapy, and the road ahead is going to be a challenge unlike any she has faced before.
Kathy and her family are now facing the harsh reality of what this means – not only the physical and medical challenges, but also the many financial ones. Like most artists who have devoted their careers to dance music, without being able to perform, there’s little to no chance of Kathy being able to earn an income. Kathy has poured her heart and soul onto stages and dancefloors all over the world for more than thirty years, and is now asking for help.
Kathy’s daughter Chanta Joyner has set up a GoFundMe to help support the family at this extremely difficult time. To aid the fundraising effort, Toolroom have announced a charity single from Wh0, Mark Knight & James Hurr featuring Kathy’s iconic vocals titled, ‘Turn Me Deeper’. The single oozes fun and good times, which is what Kathy’s music has always been about.
All the original writers have allocated all publishing earnings, with the artists and Toolroom also pledging all of their royalties to help get Kathy the best treatment possible.

German dj and producer S-File shares his vision of mesmerizing techno on Virgo with ‘Restive EP’. This bunch of productions feature – as already stated – a hypnotic mood, aroused by cool and contemporary sounding synth combinations. The title track opens fiercely the tracklist but ‘Planet Claire’ closes it magnifically, introducing Detroit inspired contaminations.
Thomas Bücker a.k.a. Bersarin Quartett gets a nice spot on the Denovali Records catalog with the album ‘Systeme’. Floating into the world of abstract sounds, the artist reveals through 14 songs a personal and reflective approach to the music, ensembling traditional instruments with enigmatic electronic styles such as drone and modern classical. These blends fuel the track themes with mystical and introspective states of mind: mentalism permeated everything Bersarin Quartett wrote. In the mid of the tracklist ‘Neuronen’ reveals an unexpected instrumental, inspired by IDM, dubstep and downbeat sonorities. Such interesting is also ‘Relevanz’, that elevates the contrast between the arches and the distortion of a bass sound tail. Finally, the artist shifts into another experimentation with the title track, joining unexpectedly industrial and downtempo.

Mavic Music’s new release is a two-track EP from Dan Sesko who’s an exciting new talent from Odense in Denmark. This is his first-ever official release, and it showcases his enthralling style, which blends driving percussion with gripping synth lines.
It’s an impressive debut release that’s reminiscent of other artists such as Reinier Zonneveld and Julian Jeweil.
“Solar Ray” opens the release with its rolling bassline, thumping kick drum and thrashing hi-hats which form a framework for the twisted euphoria of the compelling lead synth. “Finally” lifts the intensity with its pulsating bassline and fast-paced percussion, which form a foundation for the acid line and dramatic bursts from the lead synth.
