An emerging name within the US electronic music scene and beyond, West Coast DJ and producer Dateless continues to grow his reputation as a rising talent to watch, dropping music via leading imprints including Hot Creations, Hottrax, Solid Grooves and Snatch! to name just a few. Having last touched down on the label in July to deliver his ‘Lady Make Me See / Instajam’ EP, the LA-based talent now returns to VIVa MUSiC as he delivers two fresh cuts in the form of ‘What You’ve Been Told / Ego Rap’, with FUSE favourite Rich NxT also on board to remix the lead production.
Opening cut ‘What You’ve Been Told’ welcomes a playful, groove-heavy production as hazy vocals work alongside bouncy melodies, rumbling basslines and punchy kicks, whilst Rich NxT’s interpretation welcomes a trademark combination of squelching bass patterns and menacing low ends contrasted against resonant stabs and light, hooky vocals. Final track ‘Ego Rap’ ups the tempo to close as slinking percussion, infectious vox samples and skipping hats come together to reveal a peak-time track bustling with energy and drive.

We’ve been used to associate the name and the music of Raffaele Attanasio with techno, but this time he stunts everyone with this composition, detaching himself from electronic music: ‘Nuovo Futuro’ is a nine track album that mostly features jazz instrumentals with piano jams, sexy drum patterns and inculcating basslines. The ‘Alternate Versions’ of each song add a house swing to the track structure, as happen with the ‘Equilibrio Dinamico (Midnight Mix)’ that includes a gloomy kind of deep house.
‘Nuovo Futuro’ will be exclusively hosted on Jeff Mills’ Axis Records.

Tilman appears another time on Shall Not Fade while developing his creative vision of house music, ‘United Scripts’ is the title given to this bunch of great tracks; these ones revitalize many oldschool influences with modern sounds, elevating the hype and sharing a warm vibe.
The songs pressed on the a-side seem to be more dancefloor oriented, these are catchy since the beginning and the infectious grooves make your body move. As opposite on the flip the mood is still positive but the whole sound is more researched and particular, it’s noticeable a major attention to the details and some nice instrumental combinations that make the productions classy.

After closing the 2020 with a successful EP on ARTS, Trudge gets featured on Lobster Theremin with ‘Self Love Club’, a hot four tracker that shows again the high speed and intense techno sound created by the French producer. The two tracks on the a-side mix the harshness from hardtechno with mesmerizing melodies or arpeggios, introduced with elegant and charm synth sounds. On the flip ‘Bird Ghost’ sets up a contamporary approach to industrial techno, while ‘Night Shift’ closes the EP with its solid drum n bass sonoric structure.

Norweigan techno label PLOINK announces its second Affinity compilation with ‘Affinity 2’, featuring a host of the country’s electronic music talent.
Including appearances from Nordenstam, Angermund, Vakum, and Minus Magnus, the techno-focused nine-track 2xLP features key players and rising stars of the Norwegian scene, shining a light on a deeply fertile dance music landscape.
Wania & Sex Tags affiliate Nordenstam opens with ‘Jokkemokken’, a blissful production expertly blended with dub techno aesthetics, leading into Thomas Urv’s ‘Ssskummel Skog’, an elastic chugger peppered with subtle, mangled vocals to round off the A-side. On the flip, Angermund turns in a delightfully bright and airy track in ‘Rastløst Rævhål’, while Vakum heads straight to the club with the visceral and bubbling ‘Annoyingly Lengthy Title Tune’.
Kicking off the second disc is ComdaPort with the hypnotic ‘Cryster’, moving into the deep, tumbling ‘Phases’ by Pettø, followed by Mhost Likely honcho Minus Magnus’ ‘No System Trick’, picking up the pace with squelchy percussion and pounding drums. The last side of vinyl sees Rudi Valdersnes’ ‘Rommet’ moulded into a thumping and textured track by Delikatessen, before the final track ‘Morkel’ by Skolopender sees out the compilation with a dose of off the wall explorations into the depths of textured techno.

The record label Motoring will publish in March its fifth release, that’s an interesting bunch of tracks with the sign of Huñvre, a Toulouse (FR) based producer who’s ready to make a nice appearance in the scene with his EP titled ‘Neñv’.
The A side is open for mixtures and contaminations: deep house meets dub techno in the title track and ‘Aer’, demonstrating the infinite possibilities to make interactions between different styles of electronic music. On the flip there’s some space for the remixers, who adopt sexy and intriguing combinations to recall the main themes; Naconda and Merring remix ‘Nenv’, adding an interesting touch to the vibe: Naconda elevates the track potential playing with the melodies and introducing a sax recording, Merring goes deeper too adapting a typical East-European tech house. There’s also a digital bonus track, that’s another remix made by Fidy of ‘Aer’.
