With the first ever Outlook UK less than three months away, the team are getting set for their most monumental adventure to date – taking over Cheshire’s Cholmondeley Castle for 4 massive days and nights soundtracked by the finest in bass, techno, jungle, DnB, dubstep, hip-hop, reggae, garage, grime, UK rap, soul and more. As the countdown to summer draws closer, there’s another heavy selection of artists set to play. First tier £140 tickets are sold out, with tickets now available for £160 or £25 to secure a deposit.

Joining the already huge line up is a mix of young gun upstarts and established legends in the game. In the second wave Congo Natty aka Rebel MC, a seminal figure in the bass, dub and jungle movement. Other dons set to represent at Outlook are Hyberdub head honcho Kode9, and other figures from the bass movement including Kahn, Goth-Trad, Glume & Phossa. On board to rep for UK crossover talent are Eliza Rose, dubplate bossman Riz La Teef, Hooversound label founder Naina, and everyone’s favourite NTS host Sratchclart. Also, catch Yung Singh, a name who propelled into the spotlight during 2021 with his Daytimers project and infectious Punjabi garage blends.

Outlook also invites long-term family like Chunky, Chimpo, Walton and more who have represented at Croatian festival editions year on year, and will extend that energy to the first UK edition. DnB fans will be happy to find innovative duo  Instra:mental on board, joining the expansive list of artists repping for the genre. Outlook Festival would not be complete without its huge line up of MC’s to host proceedings – MC Chickaboo, MC Crazy D, MC Flux, MC GQ, MC Lowqui, MC Mighty Moe, MC Moose all join, plus 100 more DJs, MCs, live acts, soundsystem teams and crews across the weekend.

This solid-gold set of artists will join the already impressive bill, made up of Ghetts, Skream, SHERELLE, Calibre, Fabio & Grooverider and The Outlook Orchestra, Mala, 15 Years of Hessle Audio: Ben UFO, Pearson Sound, Pangaea, D Double E, Lenzman, Eva Lazarus, DJ Storm, Children Of Zeus, Chloe Robinson, Goldie, Channel One Sound System and more.

Outlook will also have a hefty selection of partners on board repping across the weekend, including RINSE FM, Keep Hush, Hessle Audio, Ilian Tape, Rupture, Skreamizm, Hot Wuk and Pretty Weird. Full stage and day breakdowns to be announced in coming weeks.

Outlook’s first UK outing takes place 30th June–3rd July 2022 at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire, a site that has never been used before for festivals. As always, Outlook Festival welcomes crews, collectives, artists, MCs, singers, rappers, and labels both returning, and new school talent who will make up the varied bill for 2022. On top of this there’ll be a hyper-focus on audio, with only the highest spec sound systems in place to soundtrack the weekend. There will be an additional focus on presenting talks, workshops, film, and panels that deep dive into education as well as the roots of the culture. There are a variety of accommodation options for those that wish to upgrade from the campsite – for more information, head to the Outlook Festival website.

AVA Belfast 2022

AVA BELFAST 2022 TICKETS

AVA’s infamous Boiler Room stage has always been a key part of the AVA programme. There’s been some monumental moments streamed live and direct from Belfast over the past 6 years, with over 20M views worldwide – Space Dimension Controller’s trance classics which had the crowd going wild, local legend Phil Keiran crowd surfing, and legendary sets from BICEP, KINK, Sally C, Midland, Denis Sulta and more. For 2022, Boiler Room will take over the Nomadic Stage, one of the highlight arenas from last year.

AVA are proud to announce the next installment of their collaboration with Boiler Room, featuring a solid selection of talent from the festival bill. A usual blend of Irish talent and international heavyweights will step up for the 7th AVA X BR broadcast. On the Friday, Robert Hood and Lyric Hood play under the Floorplan alias, bringing soulful house and techno vibes to the BR stage, plus rising electronic duo Prospa, and vocalist / producer Bklava, known for her high energy garage influenced creations. Representing the Irish talent is Gash Collective member ELLLL, alongside DART and Matheson.

Saturday’s line up is packed with what promises to be 100% charged energy. Turbo speed, acid tinged techno comes from superstar VTSS, one of techno’s most revered names right now, plus there’s emotional club bangers from TSHA, and left-leaning acid explorations from Skin On Skin. Rising star Mark Blair steps up to rep Irish talent, alongside Shampain and Brién – two names to keep an eye out who make their Boiler Room and AVA debuts this June.

Across the weekend, AVA Festival will once again invite a selection of internationally revered talent and local legends to play including Jon Hopkins, Mura Masa, BICEP, BIIG PIIG, I Hate Models, Sherelle, Overmono, Logic1000, Giant Swan, Holly Lester, ELLLL and more all set to join across the weekend. AVA’s new Titanic Slipways site will host an all new Main Stage and the return of the Nomadic, Grasses & Baltic stages – as well as immersive installations, chill out zones, secret stages and more. See the new site video for a vision of how AVA 2022 will look.

AVA Festival has long been known as a celebration of Belfast’s rapidly evolving creative movement and has given Irish artists a global stage. More tickets and information can be found at www.avafestival.com

1x1_nsf-konferencija

EXIT the Metaverse and Other Hot Topics at the NO SLEEP CONFERENCE

The EXIT team has added the traditional No Sleep conference to the programme of the special spring edition of the No Sleep Festival, led by Nina Kraviz, Stephan Bodzin, Sébastien Léger, Agents Of Time, DJ Tennis, DVS1 and DJ Bone! The conference, which is part of the celebration of the festival’s Best New European Festival title, will take place on April 8th and 9th at the Marsh Open Space in Belgrade and cover the hottest topics related to the music industry right now, including NFTs, “cancel culture,” the mental health of young people, new tendencies in contemporary music, post-COVID experiences and expectations of the entire music industry in 2022, as well as specialised music workshops! Admission is free.

The founder and director of the EXIT festival Dušan Kovačević, Miki Elson from the London ArtSect Gallery, one of the founders of the SolSea platform and All Art project Jovan Tišma, and programme director of the TMRW conference Zoran Tadić will speak at the panel “EXIT the Metaverse,” which will discuss the merger of the Metaverse, NFTs, and creative industries, on Friday, April 8th.

Another panel will be dedicated to this hot topic on the same day. This one will have the goal of bringing the audience answers to the following questions: how to create your own NFT collection, the benefits of NFTs and how to use them, and how to apply copyright in this new, growing system. Pavle Pavičić from Sokoj, Miloš Bošnjak from the All Art project, Rastko Andrić from EXIT, and Maja Ćirić, curator and art critic, will speak at this workshop, suitable for musicians as well as designers and other artists.

A panel on lessons learned during the coronavirus pandemic and the future of the music and event industry will host a couple of the world’s most renowned DJs on Saturday, April 9th, including DJ Bone and Human Rias, while EXIT board member Sanjin Đukić and Communications Director of the Epizode Festival Gorana Romčević will also share their experiences.

Young people’s mental health is also one of the most critical topics of this year’s No Sleep conference. On Friday, April 8th, Kseniia Mikhailova from UNICEF, Sanja Đurović from the Heart Association, Andrea Mezei Rokvić from the Temenos Psychological Centre, and Jelena Jung, EXIT Festival’s mental-health specialist, will talk about the impact of the pandemic, social distancing and lack of interaction, as well as the importance of festivals in that context, while Miloš Martinov, also known as DJ Lag will share his experience from a performer’s point of view.

On the same day, sociologist and professor at the University of Belgrade Dalibor Petrović, pop musician Bojana Vunturišević and Noizz editor Ana Lađarević will speak about another important topic — the phenomenon of “cancel culture.” Among other things, they will seek to answer whether this phenomenon is characterised by freedom of expression or censorship.

Luka Jovanović Luxonee from the Bassivity Music label, IDJ Digital director Bojan Muslin and rapper Fox will talk about new trends in contemporary music.

As part of the music workshops that will take place on Saturday, April 9th, young artists will have the opportunity to learn the basics of DJing with the legend of Detroit techno DJ Bone, revealing tips and tricks that he has collected during his 30-year career. Fans of backing tracks and broken beats will be introduced to the basics of music production by beatmaker Luxonee from Bassivity Music.

The No Sleep conference will take place in the Marsh Open Space (Cetinjska 15) on Friday, April 8th, and on Saturday, April 9th, from 1 to 6 p.m. Admission is free. The complete programme of the conference will be published on the festival website.

Special Spring Edition with Nina Kraviz, Stephan Bodzin, Agents Of Time, DJ Bone, Sébastien Léger

The spring edition of the festival, produced by the EXIT team with the support of Guarana, finally brings the celebration of the prestigious title of Best New Festival at the 2020 European Festival Awards!

The celebratory programme at the Matrez hangar will feature electronic music legends such as Nina Kraviz, Stephan Bodzin, DVS1, DJ Bone, Agents Of Time, and DJ Tennis. This time around, the Drugstore Club will present the most diverse programme so far, including Sébastien Léger, Daniella Da Silva B2B SUMIA, but also a strong local hip-hop and trap line-up –  Crni Cerak, Spejs Noksi, Kene Beri and many others. You can check out the entire program on the festival website.

Due to tremendous interest, the current ticket prices will be valid until end-of-day Tuesday, April 5th, or earlier if the quantities are sold out! PACK SHOT Boblebad - Sirebad - Beatservice Records

Boblebad ‘Syrebad’

Artist: Boblebad
Title: Syrebad
Label: Beatservice Records
Cat. #: BS253-2
Format: Digital
Release Date: 22nd April 2022

This May, Boblebad offers up his debut LP, ‘Rund i Kantene’, but not before offering a tantalising taste of what to expect in the form of this second lead single.

There is barely a sound that Boblebad cannot do. He is a talented producer and musician who plays trombone in a big jazz band as well as with an Afrobeat collective and has released on Eskimo, Full Pupp, Paper Recordings and Aquavit Beat as well as this label before now. He can craft weird jazz, deepest house, cosmic disco and freaky funk in the studio and all of that and more should be expected from the upcoming album.

But first comes ‘Syrebad,’ which is a truly unique production and a fine showcase of Boblebad’s left-of-centre style. It’s an uptempo house groove laced with ripples of soft acid. Cosmic synths and tripped-out stabs all bring plenty of colour as this heartfelt but high-impact club track continually raises the pressure.

‘Syrebad’ is another standout single from a forthcoming album that is sure to delight.

Release number 3 on Vinylmatt Music: Sirrah meets Eli James for the creation of ‘Hold On’, a smooth but juicy house single with a nice piano melody and vocal; the theme has been remixed by three interesting names such as Vanilla Ace, Narda and Dalston Lane, artists who provided some cool interpretations. Their remixes respect the original mix vibe and elevat its potential, adaptating the main sounds into pleasant and dancefloor oriented song structures.
