Artist: Marco Faraone Title: Any Good Vibe? Label: Rekids Cat. #: REKIDS224 Format: Vinyl / Digital Release Date: 25th August 2023 Tracklist: A1 Any Good Vibe? B1 Ego Kills B2 Ghana
Italian DJ/producer Marco Faraone returns to Rekids this August with ‘Any Good Vibe?’
Tuscany-born, Barcelona-based Marco Faraone runs the UNCAGE label and event series, where he showcases the breadth and depth of his tastes. Returning to Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint after multiple appearances on the label, ‘Any Good Vibe?’ sees Faraone bring another potent EP of stylish techno.
Leading the A-side is the title cut, with yelping vocals and flaming percussion all adding to the wild energy of the track. The superb ‘Ego Kills’ follows, with swinging drums, chord stabs, and dubbed-out stylings that suit it to sweaty back rooms. Rounding out the release is ‘Ghana’, a heavy techno groove layered up with plenty of percussion, urgent synth sounds, and a vocal that adds unease to the intense atmosphere.
“My music on Rekids is always going through different shades of Techno, a very crossover sound heavily influenced by House music too and jackin’ raw grooves. When I release something on this label, it’s always something special, with deep musical research and selection. It’s always a challenge and inspiring to write something new and fresh for Rekids.” – Marco Faraone.
Artist: DEAS Title: Tanzhaus EP Label: Planet Rhythm Cat. #: prrukblk087 Format: Vinyl/Digital Release Date: 1st September 2023
Techno maestro DEAS returns to Planet Rhythm with the Tanzhaus EP
DEAS doesn’t hold back in the ‘Tanzhaus’ EP. The BauMuzik label boss joins Rotterdam imprint PlanetRhythm for his eighth release on the label, ‘Black Air’ storming in with pounding drums, hi-hats hissing and crackling among looming clouds of dub-chords, occasionally interrupted by the flash of electrifying plucks. The title track of the ‘Tanzhaus EP’ continues, the space between its kicks filled with hypnotic, droning percussion while bleeps playfully dance throughout the dancefloor madness.
‘Dark Line’ is next, a brooding trip featuring imposing melodics and shadowy, skittering sequences. This is a mysterious, spellbinding techno offering from the CLR, A R T S and ARA artist, expertly demonstrated in ‘Cut’, which drops the curtain in mind-melting, raw techno fashion. Planet Rhythm drops another not-to-miss package from the sought-after Polish artist, showcasing his groove-laden production style already supported by the likes of RichieHawtin, AmelieLens, Rodhad, MarcelDettmann, AncientMethodsand many more.
Tibi Dabo returns with ‘Overture’, a third tantalising single from his forthcoming Crosstown Rebels album, with remixes from Map.ache and Aline Umber.
The first two singles from the project, ‘Triple Frontier’ and ‘Licht’, have shown what Barcelona’s Tibi Dabo is all about – forward-thinking electronic music with original drums (a result of him having toured the globe with his band) and plenty of cosmic twists and character. A label favourite having dropped his ‘Isla’ EP on Crosstown Rebels back in 2022, ahead of his much-anticipated debut LP comes this third superb taster from it.
The superb ‘Overture’ is an eight-minute gem with super smooth percussion and elastic grooves, with wispy sci-fi chords and gentle synth modulations. It’s full of future feels and catchy drum funk that is sophisticated and smartly detailed with chopped- up vocal fragments.
First to remix is Leipzig’s Map.ache, co-founder of Kann Records and member of the Giegling family. His take builds with fatter drums that are just as infectious, while rippling synth loops weave in and out as flashy basslines cut loose and balmy pads add extra cosmic absence to a hypnotic mix of the heady and the physical.
Aline Umber, a collaborative live project from French composers, producers and DJs Aline Brooklyn and Aman Umber, are second to remix. They run the Airfunk label and are no stranger to playing cult spots like Rex Club in Paris. Their ‘23% Eventide’ mix is a blissed-out and synth-laced trip with subtle, smeared chords and starry-eyed keys that have you gazing off into the distance as you get lost in the warm drums.
Artist: Shlomi Aber Title: Remote 101 EP Label: CLR Cat. #: CLR110 Format: Digital Release Date: 25th August 2023 Tracklist: 01 Righ 02 Time and Space 03 Chasing 04 Remote 101

Returning to Chris Liebing’s imprint, Aber follows his 2022 EP, which spent 9 months in the Top Ten Beatport’s Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) section, with another four killer techno tracks.

Lead track ‘street knowledge.’ is a certified groover built for those sun-soaked terraces across Ibiza through to leading Festivals on both sides of the Atlantic. A zig-zagging baseline and shuffling drums build to welcome rich chords and playful vocals, while sweeping synths and acid-laced leads add well-worked layers to a slick opener. Up next, the aptly titled ‘sunday walk.’ is a jazz-tinged and blissful second original, utilising bright keys, soulful vocals and rich brass interludes to set up a breezy journey. To close, Max Chapman’s take on the lead track veers towards garage-leaning spheres, opting for resonant organ stabs above skippy percussion arrangements with his lively remix.
Artist: Perky Wires Title: Back To The Old School EP Label: Hottrax Cat. #: HXT112 Format: Digital Release Date: 18th August 2023 Tracklist: 1. Back To The Old School 2. Tribute of Groove 3. Jade

They’re kinetic and infectious and make for perfect dance floor bait. Last of all is ‘Jade’, an impossibly silky and spaced-out tech funk gem with bumping drums and mad FX that take you into a psychedelic realm.
