Mathias Kaden returns to Rekids with ‘Blackbird’, featuring a remix from Ian Pooley.

Last appearing on Rekids with the ‘Control Your Mind’ EP in 2020, Mathias Kaden now delivers his third release on Radio Slave’s label, teaming up with Zoë Xenia for the mammoth ‘Blackbird’ backed with a pair of remixes from house legend Ian Pooley.

Leading the A-side, ‘Blackbird’ sees Mathias Kaden reach for rumbling basslines, fluttering synths, and lush piano chords to craft a tense, building track enhanced by Zoë Xenia’s soaring vocal performance. Additionally, an instrumental version of the track features on the A2, providing a welcome bonus for listeners and DJs alike.

On the flip, Ian Pooley twists the track into a rattling house jam, with wriggling keys, bouncing low-end sizzling percussion sitting under slices of Xenia’s effortless vocals. Rounding out the release is the ‘Basic Dub’ mix, which sees Pooley playing with classic dub techniques for a sharp instrumental take on the original.

After a fine recent release on Sol Selectas, Spanish artists German Brigante and Yamil join forces to great effect once more, this time on connected.

Malaga native German Brigante has been serving up polished underground sounds on labels like MonaBerry and Dynamic for many years. His meticulous melodies find favour with the likes of Dixon and he runs his own Manitox label. Yamil, meanwhile, is a label regular with a rich and worldly style that often takes him to the top of digital charts as well as some of the world’s finest clubs.

Their superb new single features the voice and percussion of producer, singer and percussionist G.Zamora, who turns in one of his deepest performances. He sings about an inner journey where the mind is always analysing and trying to take the positives from life which in turn makes the earthly path more transcendental.

‘Sigue Tu Camino’ Feat. G.Zamora is a deeply hypnotic Afro-house cut with spiritual synths. The organic percussion peppers the supple drums and G.Zamora’s vocal casts an almighty spell. It is the sort of life-enriching track that will form the highlight of any set, such is the realness of its emotions.

Afro-house music doesn’t come more stylish and classy than this new single from the connected label.

DEAS drops the heaving ‘Symmetry EP’ on CLR this June.

Previously appearing on CLR with ‘Command EP’ in January, the Greece-born, Poland-based DJ/producer DEAS returns to Chris Liebing’s imprint with ‘Symmetry EP’. Bringing another set of no-nonsense techno tracks, the BAU MUZIK honcho shows off his production chops across four sizzling productions.

‘Symmetry’ leads the release with grinding synths, ghostly vocals, and pumping percussion, moving into the rough ‘Crypto’, which brings subtle modulations across an evolving, drum-led arrangement that is equal parts sparse and dense.

‘Phase Two’ follows with trippy bleeps, metallic hits, and heavy low-end meeting for a rugged, late-night offering. Closing out the release is ‘OB’, which sees DEAS toy with creeping strings and textured loops, strung out across a 4/4 kick pattern for a tense and direct finalé.

Drumcode is thrilled to welcome back Victor Ruiz for his first label release in nearly two years, following two EPs ‘Freedom’ and the collaborative ‘Consciousness’ with Pig&Dan, plus a standout single ‘Love Story’ on A-Sides Vol.10, which made him the imprint’s most prolific contributor in 2020.

Since then, highlights for Victor include playing our Drumcode takeover at Warehouse Project, collaborating with Hannes Bieger on his acclaimed ‘Balance Presents’ album and joining the line-up for Time Warp Brazil.

His four-tracker ‘Beirut’ signalises another pivotal step forward for the São Paulo-born artist. Ruiz has always operated at the more emotive end of the techno spectrum and this opus exemplifies his ability to craft dramatic tension and beauty in equal doses.

The title track is dedicated to one of his favourite cities. “’Beirut’ is a very emotional song and at the same time, very powerful. Just like the city. I wanted to make a track that would be beautiful and a kicker at the same time,” he tells of the sublime nine-minute anthem-in-the-making.
‘Confession’ shows another side of his production palette; eerie and intense, it’s led by a searing synth lead and smoky vox. ‘Jurema’ takes inspiration from the famous Brazilian spiritual tree and features vocals in Portuguese talking about mysticism, all the while crafting a belter with organic drums and sounds of nature to transmit the feeling of being in the jungle. The EP rounds out with ‘Omen’, a peak-time piston with a huge melodic lead designed for big festival moments.

All tracks from the ‘Beirut’ EP will feature in Victor’s new ‘Live’ concept, where he dismembers parts of his catalogue and creates new versions of his tracks.

A stalwart of the Dutch techno scene since the mid-nineties, Jeroen Schrijvershof has been challenging the standards of the techno scene with integrity and unflinching dedication throughout the years. Stepping up with his anticipated debut offering for the label with ‘Enigma’, techno trailblazer Jeroen Search joins Reclaim Your City for their sixteenth release.

On his maiden effort for RYC, Jeroen Search delivers a set of clinical techno weapons. Starting with the title track, ‘Enigma’, the Dutch DJ/producer brings a blunt and no-frills barrage of heaving kicks and sizzling percussion. The stripped-back ‘Modules’ follows suit, delivering a combination of trippy FM synthesis and a fiercely dynamic arrangement. On the flip, ‘Object of Ridicule’ kicks off the B-side with loose drums, dark pads, and rumbling low end before the final track ‘Circle Park’ tops the release off with finessed textures and fine details atop dense atmospherics.

Reclaim Your City is a Rotterdam-via-Berlin based outlet uniting underground purveyors across the globe. Operating as both a label and respected radio show, artists who have previously appeared on the imprint include Stanislav Tolkachev, Rene Wise, Oscar Mulero, Inigo Kennedy, Héctor Oaks, and François X, while the esteemed radio show has played host to Ben Sims, Mark Broom, Ryan James Ford, MARRØN, Freddy K and many more.

Nicole Moudaber announces ‘Mood Elevation’ remix series, recruiting Will Clarke and Marcal for the first release this July.

Nicole Moudaber, the founder of label, party, and radio show MOOD, has been at the forefront of house and techno for over a decade, regularly appearing at esteemed festivals and venues such as Glastonbury, Coachella, DC-10, andSpace Ibiza. Her iconic In The Mood events, with recent editions in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, and at EDC Festival, have featured legendary artists such as Carl Craig, Chris Liebing, Loco Dice, and many more over the years. Her MOOD imprint consistently releases music from some of the scene’s top producers, including Klaudia Gawlas, Eats Everything, and of course herself.

Now embarking upon a series of remixes of her recent releases ahead of an In The Mood tour for 2022, Moudaber announces the first volume of ‘Mood Elevation’, recruiting Will Clarke and Marcal to remix her collaborations with the iconic Alan T. Will Clarke, who recently played the In The Mood LA event, runs the All We Have Is Now label and has recently released on the likes of Kneaded Pains, Trick, and Filth On Acid amongst others. Marcal’s hard-hitting productions have graced labels such as Hardgroove, Token, andRekids Special Projects, winning him fans amongst techno heads worldwide.

For his remix, Will Clarke flips ‘The Volume’ into a no-holds-barred anthem, reaching for pounding drums, sizzling FX, and twisted vocals to make for a thrilling club track. Marcal leans towards trippier territories on his reinterpretation of ‘The Music Is Mine’, bringing rumbling kicks and weighty low end under the occasional sound of a racecar darting across the stereo spectrum.

Joey Mercedes is a DJ/producer based in New York whose previous releases include a record on Spanish label lowsounds in 2020 as well as a string of self-released tracks via Bandcamp. Joining the toucan sounds family with his latest offering, Mercedes teams up with label friends and family Brandon Markell Holmes, Robert PM, Red Velvet Papi and Lyric Christian for a standout release packed with funky house collaborations.

Leading the EP, ‘It Goes On’ sees Mercedes and label-boss Robert PM crafting lush soundscapes and chunky drums, providing the base for Brandon Markell Holmes’ gentle vocal performance. Following is ‘San Tropez’, which sees Holmes’ providing a combination of singing and spoken word over a bouncy house track with pumping kicks, blissful sax, and rattling percussion, before ‘Ardor (Interlude)’ brings dreamy pads and a dense, evolving arrangement.

‘Perplexed’ features New York-based rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer Red Velvet Papi and is a grooving vocal house production with wonky synths and skippy drums. ‘Fulton’ follows the same trajectory, bringing together Holmes and NYC singer-songwriter Lyric Christian over an irresistible, immaculately produced house jam. Additional instrumental versions of ‘It Goes On’, ‘Perplexed’, and ‘Fulton’ are included to round out the release.

Brooklyn’s toucan sounds are a label at the forefront of emerging sounds and artists based out of the You Too Can Woo studios in New York. Since its inception in 2018, the imprint has been championing acts such as musclecars, Haruka Salt, Brandon Markell Holmes, and more.

Welcome Cosmokat on TRAUM!

Cosmokat are Dominic Lehmann and Benjamin Grimm formerly known as HAFENKANDE. With Cosmokat their sound has become more distinguished and deep featuring vocals and percussion. Both can look back on a vivid career Djing in nearly every club in Hamburg (Waagenbau, Prinzenbar, Bahnhof Pauli and Fundbureau) and numerous clubs in Berlin (Anomalie, Burg Schnabel oder Mensch Meier). Their journey has lead them also to gigs in foreign countries such as Afrika. They also have their own label Katz&Kauz and have their own club nights in Hamburgs “Frau Holle”.

With their 4 track EP on Traum they show their skill to write epic & hypnotic deep house tunes.

The EP kicks off with the title track “Visions” featuring vocalist Marvin Jam. Tenderly stroking our senses with reluctant and sensitive sounds and words in a percussive strong beat. The narrative structure is indeed minimalist and everything sits in the right place to connect with the dancer and listener.

The second track “Shadows” is a 10 minute epic tale of overflowing sequences and mighty vocals by Marvin Jam.

“Loverboy” runs for 10 minutes as well and lingers on in a subtle minimalist way to reach out to you in special moments.

The remix version done by Katermukke artist Othertune transforms the original into a clubby dance version.

Mona Yim debuts on Rekids with ‘Gotta Do This, Gurl’, featuring remixes from Radio Slave.

Born and raised between Singapore and Germany and now based in Berlin, Mona Yim spent time bouncing between the clubs of London, Berlin, and Paris while honing her craft, culminating in a recent remix for DJ Seinfeld’s ‘Tell Me One More Time’ on Ninja Tune. Now readying her debut solo release on Rekids, Mona Yim delivers two dreamy house cuts for the imprint, backed with a pair of remixes from label-boss Radio Slave.

Leading the release, ‘Gotta Do This, Gurl’ brings crispy, bouncing drums alongside moody pads and subtle vocal chops, building up to an emotive breakdown. Radio Slave beefs up the drum patterns with breakbeats for his remix, adding additional atmospheric FX to existing melodic elements for a chunky, driving track.

‘Dots Obsession’ sees floaty percussion, gentle synth work and vocals working in tandem to craft a soft yet evocative house jam. Injecting a pumping 4/4 pattern alongside elements of the original, Radio Slave’s interpretation brings the energy levels up with pitch-perfect dub FX and swirling synthesis.
