Papa Marlin & Bondar team up for ‘Sunshine’ on Lee Foss’ new North Of Neptune imprint this February.

Ukraine’s Papa Marlin and USA’s Bondar have previously collaborated on labels such as South of Saturn, Sola, Stereo Productions and many more, and now land on Lee Foss’ North of Neptune. Bringing with them another pair of rocking house tracks, the duo put their production chops on full display throughout the ‘Sunshine’ two-tracker.

Leading the release, the title track ‘Sunshine’ brings a catchy, memorable sample to the forefront with a grooving backdrop of chunky drums and sub-hits. ‘Caravan’ sees wonky, carnivalesque instrumentation with rocking percussion and heavy-hitting low end for a trippy yet groovy affair.

Responsible for the wildly successful Repopulate Mars, South of Saturn, and Hot Creations, founded with Jamie Jones, Lee Foss’ new imprint North Of Neptune sees the Chicago-born, LA-based artist further cementing himself as one of modern house music’s most influential actors.

South American techno producer William Arist steps up to Lady Tazz’s Mind Medizin for a new single with an infectious remix from Truncate.

William Arist hails from Montevideo and has a heavy take on techno that has seen him release on Uncage, Planet Rhythm and Bek Audio. He runs his own Perseverancia Records and has had the likes of Joel Mull and Richie Hawtin playing his tracks. He is also a teacher who owns the Espacio Sonoro music school and lays down a fine lesson in tech on this brand-new EP.

The steamy ‘Neo Groove I’ is intense and edgy techno with tightly woven synths, drums and bass. It’s a never-ending trip through desolate industrial spaces that manages to hypnotise while offering plenty of cinematic details. ‘Neo Groove II’ layers up twisted metal sounds with big, icy hi-hats. The punchy drum loops are warm and packed with pent-up energy, and as the synths come and go, the tension rises and falls to always keep you guessing.

L.A.-based Truncate is renowned for his rolling techno style, coming on labels like 50Weapons, CLR, Ovum, and his own eponymously titled imprint. This remix is another classic, with infectious techno drum funk laid down in signature Truncate style. Pulsing synths are stitched in next to rusty hi-hats to make for a raw, heads-down stomper.

‘Neo Groove EP’ is another subversive techno outing for Lady Tazz’s always on-point Mind Medizin label.

Kicking off 2023 with another landmark release, following on from ANOTR’s debut album late last year, February sees imprint favourite Toman turn up the heat and launch straight into the action as he drops the label’s 50th release – delivering three of his biggest tracks currently in rotation across his ‘Chevere’ EP.

Title track ‘Chevere’ is a resonant cut armed with darker, wicked undertones as the rumbling bassline underpins rich melodies and hooky vocals for a peak time effort loaded with energy. Dutch artists Speedy J and Steve Rachmad have long been defining the techno underground with seminal tunes on a range of influential labels. For their new release, the duo jammed in Speedy’s studio for their new release, working the live results into four fresh and powerful new tracks, kicking off a new series of live collaborations on Luke Slater’s Mote-Evolver.

The intense and textural ‘Reddo’ kicks off with industrial synth lines designed for maximum warehouse impact before ‘Dabler Nine’ brings its deep rolling drums and mind-melting synth lines late into the night. ‘Right Well and Clean’ has fresh, airy kick drums rolling beneath harsh and icy hi-hats before ‘Rotor’ closes the release in cosmic fashion with spiralling pads and intensely layered synths and drums.

Anonymous duo EB_Flow make their debut on Burnski’s Constant Sound.

Producer duo EB_Flow launched London institute FUSE’s ‘X Series’ earlier this year with the ‘Transmission’ EP, kicking off a run of records on the label centred around collaboration. Now, the mysterious pair join forces once again for the ‘Sunshine’ EP, this time picked up by Burnski’s Constant Sound. Known for releasing house, garage, bass and electro via its Constant Black, Instinct and Infiltration branches, the imprint has become a respected and eclectic powerhouse within the scene, dropping material from Kepler, Chris Stussy,Interplanetary Criminal, Borai and many more.

The A-side establishes itself with organic drums, sweeping synths and boundless energy. ‘Running’ introduces a dusty breakbeat, infectious bass and an irresistible topline, setting the tone for a multi-purpose, classy dancefloor affair.
