Sumdayz Festival, an electronic music event that brings together the energy of Rome’s local scene with the diversity of an international crowd, is returning for its second edition on September 22, 23 & 24, 2023. The festival will take place at Ippodromo Capannelle and features an outstanding lineup of international and local DJs and producers performing on 2 stages across 3 days.
This year’s festival will continue showcasing some of the best talent in electronic music genres, catering to all music enthusiasts. Last year’s headliners included Apollonia, tINI, Traumer, Raresh, Praslea, Barac, Priku, Giammarco Orsini, Christian AB, Quest, Jeremy Underground and more.. Our new partnerships with Trommel, Slapfunk, Toi.Toi.Musick, Outcast Turin, Jooice, Vesuvius Records, Anime and more, have allowed for a curated selection of the biggest names in the electronic music scene. These include our headliners Craig Richards, Francesco del Garda, Rhadoo, Sweely, tINI, Dyed Soundorom. Our other international and local talents include, Mathew Jonson, Dungeon Meat, Laidlaw, Samuel Deep, Fabrizio Sala, Harry McCanna, Gabbs, Alex Dima, Christian Sarde, Munir Nadir, Dj Senc, Angelo PGM, Brasi, CHKLTE, Paul Lution, Doudou MD and Yaar Kū, with more that will be taking over the opening acts across the main stage and tent stage.
The multi-stage festival in the capital will provide immersive audio and visual experiences, and in addition to the music, partygoers can expect a complete hospitality experience catering to all their needs. Welcome to the 12th edition of our ongoing Breaking New Soil series, featuring both new and established talent once again. First up is our good friend Harvey McKay, who graced the label last year with his seminal „Forest“ EP – his new track „Borderline“ is another trademark Harvey production, guaranteed to set dancefloors on fire! Next up we have Phyrgian from Colombia. I played his track „Tarot” in almost every set last year, so we are very happy to have him on board with „Mansalva“, another über-hypnotic techno excursion – imagine to hear this at a dark, packed warehouse rave – pure fire! Next up are Mario Hammer and The Lonely Robot – known for their eclectic releases on Traum and Cocoon. They handed in “13 Degrés“, remixed by Harald Björk. It´s one of those tracks that – when dropped at the right moment, will take dancers on a journey and leave them with a smile on their faces. Last but not least we are very happy to have some original music by Lad, who is know in the business as one of the finest mastering engineers. Hailing from Geneva, he surprised us with this phenomenal Techno track, that takes no prisoners but will start a riot on the dancefloors for sure. This is Breaking New Soil!

Colombian producer and DJ, Lega made his debut on Detroit’s Motech Records in 2021 with the track, ‘Hope Is The Only Thing’ on the ‘Consortium Vol. 3’ compilation. Now he returns with a full-length EP, aptly titled ‘Colombia & Detroit Connection’.
Lega (Miguel Lega) is the founder of events company, The Hindie Corporation and the AMB Agency as well as co-founder of the Raw Quarter label. His productions (either as Lega or his other pseudonym, No Intellectual Property) have also appeared on labels including Diffuse Reality and Planet X.
Across this five track EP, Lega takes various inspirations, whether it’s his home of Bogota, classic Detroit Techno, or the sounds of some of his favourite labels like Blueprint and of course Motech, as well his contemporaries like Truncate.

Ten Years Lost, the label boss of Infinite Wisdom, has kicked off 2023 with his “Chasing Planes” EP. This 2-tracker is a nostalgic nod to the big room sounds of Bicep and Denis Sulta, but with a modern mystical twist. Alongside the title track’s bass driven piano action, the 2nd track ‘Kendall’s S.O.S.’ features a standout vocal performance from London-based singer Kendall Ramsey, elevating the track to new heights.

East End Dubs is continuing to grow the popular Eastenderz imprint with the launch of a brand new sub-label; Belief. Jesse has quickly emerged as the one to watch within the thriving electronic music scene of the Netherlands. By being raised in a household where a lot of jazz, disco, and blues were played, and by playing guitar at an early age, music has always been a cornerstone of his life. His versatile sets are comprised of authentic, contemporary, and classic underground cuts with a minimal touch, leaving his footprint with many remarkable DJ performances. Roberto Capuano returns to Truesoul with a triumvirate of club cuts.
The Napolese artist’s last outing on Drumcode’s little brother label was way back in 2015, with ‘Never Stop’. The title track was a Truesoul classic and typified the groove-ridden techno sound of the mid-2010’s.
Road tested by Adam Beyer at Circoloco @ DC10 and various after parties, ‘Move it Man’ again reinforces his exciting production output.
The title track is a crispy ’80s inspired cut where house, techno and electro collide. Perfect for adding colour to any set. ‘Dice Roll’ is characterised by chugging rhythms, squelchy synths and a cool filtered vocal. ‘Trippin’ is a thick wedged slice of dancefloor might, spanning progressive, techno and acid. Another triumph by Capuano.
Berlin-based Australian artist Kristin Velvet debuts on Ovum with two standout cuts backed with a remix from label boss Josh Wink.
Velvet has lived, promoted, partied, DJed and produced around the world. These days, Kristin is shaping the Berlin scene with her work at Arms & Legs Records and as resident DJ at Watergate. She brings an interesting array of influences to her music which is rooted in heavy house and techno grooves with smart hooks. Last year she contributed a tune to the Watergate Twenty Years Anniversary Compilation and now kicks off 2023 with this fresh offering.
‘Slater Hills’ opens up with rolling drums that immediately lock you in. Percussion grows in stature as dark bass arrives and bleeping sonar pulses take you on a deep space trip. It’s a stripped-back but hugely atmospheric cut. Josh Wink steps up to remix and ups the energy levels. The drums are more clipped and punchy with raw claps and loopy bass, refracted vocals and trippy synth effects all adding to the drama.
Last of all is ‘Trockenfutter’ which is a mind-melting deep techno cut. Roaming synths pan about the mix over raw, heavy kicks and the whole thing is brilliantly physical and menacing. Add in doom laded chords and thunderous claps and you have a perfect weapon for underground clubs.
Kristin Velvet’s Slater Hills shows off another alluring side to this hugely promising artist.
Released on 17th February, ‘Circuit Breaker’ marks the first single to drop from Madben’s forthcoming album ‘Troisiéme Sens’ on Ellum Audio.
Lille native Madben is a renowned producer with releases on Astropolis, COD3 QR, Trunkline, and Ellum. The latter plays host to his latest work as he returns to Maceo Plex’s celebrated label with a unique twelve-track album this April.
The 17th of February will see the introduction of the first single ‘Circuit Breaker’. Packed with chugging moody acid techno from the outset – its minimalist approach leaves the floor open to a head-turning display of modulating analogue musicality and ominous resonance, carving out a gritty late-night cut that stands out from the crowd. “I made this track in a very short time, which was unexpected. It’s a favourite of mine; I don’t think I will ever get bored of playing it,” adds Madben.
The single comes with a heady remix from New York producer Avision, a regular on Ellum. Here he works some pace into the original with a bouncy bassline and a killer breakdown, turning this into a peak-time dancefloor cut.
‘Circuits Breaker’ is a superb taster for the long player ahead and another electronic gem from the on-point Madben.
