Introducing Cesare vs Disorder’s highly anticipated debut album, “Antidote”, released via his label Serialism Records. After more than 20 years of relentless studio efforts and shows around the world, Cesare Marchese, the Italian-Polish mastermind behind the project, finally brings a unique blend of musical influences to the dance music scene with his first-ever album.

Born with a passion for classical music and honed through years of training, Cesare’s electronic music journey began in the late 90s when he started DJing, getting exposed to various genres of music, from Hip Hop to Indie Rock, Reggae to Drum’n’Bass. However, his love for Modern Jazz, Brazilian Bossanova, Dub, and Electronica left a significant bearing on his later musical taste. And that’s exactly this rich tapestry of mixed influences that gave life to “Antidote,” which showcases Cesare’s innovative approach to club music, promising to be a musical journey where the sounds of yesterday meet the future of electronic music.

The vinyl-only version unfolds between eight tracks, featuring collaborations with Romanian maestro Cristi cons, Amsterdam’s eclectic San Proper, Rockey Washington – a legendary Los Angeles based MC, and Serialism A&R and longtime Cesare’s friend, Weg.
The journey continues with 5 more tunes added in the digital version including featuring collaborations with visionary Boston Hip Hop Jazz guru, Mike Ladd, London-based DJ producer and captivating voice, Joe Le Groove and American vocalist Aminah Raysor with her moniker MC Dreaminah, and will be exclusively released on streaming platforms, transcending the traditional avenues of web sales channels.

Playful evolving throughout its duration, “Antidote” reflects Cesare’s diverse musical background, drawing inspiration from his early fascination with jungle and breakbeats to his deep appreciation for Trip Hop, Acid Jazz and Eletronica. The result is a captivating blend of old-school emotions and contemporary textures that will leave listeners feeling inspired and transported to another time. With its mixture of nostalgia and modernity, “Antidote” promises to be an unforgettable musical experience.

Together they have a unique mix of live vocals and richly textured electronic sounds that are deep, sensual and playful. Kate has worked with Sonny Fodera and Deep Dish on labels such as Defected, Mobilee, and Cafe Mambo, while Nicolas runs the French Kitchen label and has thrown events worldwide.

The excellent ‘Terrible Happiness’ proves that with seven minutes of uplifting retro-future disco brilliance – the drums are leggy and loose, the chords reach skywards, and Kate’s steamy vocals finish the cosmic trip off in emotional fashion. A Club Mix layers in darker bass that powers things onward even more, but the irresistible vocal remains in place next to expansive chords that take you ever higher.

Remixer Gumm is a mainstay on the Melbourne scene who has gone from renegade party promoter to beloved festival headliner. He co-founded the city’s Darklove brand and mixes up nu-wave, indie and disco. Here he gets dark, with slap-funk drums and prying synths bringing romance and late-night mischief to the original. The vocal becomes more haunting and makes this is very different but equally brilliant version.

This is another faultless package from Lunar Disco.

Secret Factory ‘Twilo’s Legend EP’

Artist: Secret Factory
Title: Twilo’s Legend EP
Label: Secret Fusion
Cat. #: SFR038
Format: Digital
Release Date: 30th June 2023
Tracklist:
1. Twilo’s Legend
2. Twilo’s Legend (Ditian Remix)
3. Twilo’s Legend (LERM Interpretation)
4. Magnetic

Vital Hungarian label Secret Fusion is back with a new package of leftfield sounds, this time from label heads Secret Factory with fresh remixes from Ditian and LERM.

Secret Fusion is well known as a legendary underground party that has been the best place to dance in Hungary for over 20 years. Since 2019, it has also been an experimental house, disco and techno label that is just as forward-thinking and essential thanks to the fine curation of label heads Secret Factory. They have a meticulously crafted and synth heavy sound that has taken them to labels like Diynamic and MoBlack and is perfectly exemplified by these two new cuts.

Superb opener ‘Twilo’s Legend’ is a loose and lithe mix of rubbery drums and gentle chords which twist and turn and get joined by a pixelated lead full of hope. It’s artful, synth-heavy house for those moments when you’re lost in the smoke on the heart of the dance floor.

Innervisions associate Ditian steps up with a remix that turns up the synth brightness and works up a more turbulent track with freaky motifs pacing about the mix over a raw bassline. Hungarian artist LERM also remixes but his version stays deep and moody with swaying drums and pixelated stabs locking you in suspense.

The fantastic final original is ‘Magnetic’, a slow-burning mix of tangled synths and drums with crisp hits that come to life on big chords and explosive leads. A moody breakdown rebuilds the tension and when it drops again, the synths ride up and down the scales and take the floor into the next dimension.

This is another forward-thinking package of well-designed electronic sounds from Secret Fusion.

The majestic ‘Licht’ is a mellifluous mix of lithe synth work and rubbery basslines that are fluid as can be. The tightly interwoven groove bubbles zip amongst radiant energy as wispy synths break out. It’s a sublime and supple concoction that cannot fail to make you want to cut loose on the dance floor and get lost in its subtle cosmic radiance and a charming first offering from the new school tastemaker’s forthcoming LP.

Format: Vinyl & Digital
Release Date: 23rd June 2023
Tracklist
A Space Night
B1  Lost In Time
B2  Replicate
C1  The Broken Circle
C2  Floating Mirror
D  Think Outside The Box
E  Perceptions
F1  Back In The Days
F2  Beholder

Adam’s Bite label regular Martinesque serves up his long-awaited debut album ‘Think Outside The Box’ this June, with the nine-track trip exploring classy dancefloor dynamics drawn from two decades of personal history with electronic music in a coherent but eclectic fashion.

Martinesque, aka Adrian Martin, is a Swiss scene mainstay who brings 90s Mid-Western US style to his tracks. He is also head of bookings at the revered Elysia, having held various vital residencies in Switzerland. Previous outings on the label have mixed up classy house and minimal-leaning techno with meditative rhythms, New York colour and classic acid, and now he ups his game with a debut album on Adam’s Bite that conjures up nostalgic memories of nights gone by, with nods to acid, breaks, pop, trance and big beat tied together by that unique Martinesque style.

“This is a set of transcendent tools dreamt up the morning after and presented to invite receptors to rearrange, reshape, and recompile. This is the sum of its parts, and parts might differ.” – Martinesque.

The album opener ‘Space Night’ is a lithe and elastic house cut with fresh cosmic melodies lifting you off your feet and starting this journey in fine fashion. ‘Lost In Time’ then slips into cruise mode with smooth tech house and trippy sci-fi details over the top of a compelling bassline. ‘Replicate’ ups the ante with more tightly coiled tech funk – the rubbery bass and drums interlinking perfectly as vocal details and alien life forms peel away up top. ‘Broken Circle’ brings expert sound designs and intricate drum programming to another bright, balmy astral tech house cut that suspends you just above the dance floor, while ‘Floating Mirror’ zones you out with its star-gazing pads and molten acid lines over slick deep house drums.

The title track is an epic eight-minute adventure that goes into darker house territory with a real sense of tension, and ‘Perceptions’ is a thumping acid cut with undulating 303s, slinky drums and icy hi hats all working you into a meditative state. After the sublime progressive tribal sounds of ‘Back In The Day’ comes closer ‘Beholder,’ a bristling melange of broken beat loops and cosmic turbulence that zones you out with its richly layered sounds. ‘Think Outside The Box’ does just that and is a sublime soundscape from Martinesque.
