Printworks London Launch Inkwells

PRINTWORKS LONDON LAUNCH ‘INKWELLS’

A NEW SPACE OPENING TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE FIRST TIME

17th September 2021 – 1st January 2022 | Printworks London, SE1
Printworkslondon.co.uk

Award-winning venue, Printworks London has unveiled plans to open Inkwells, a new room for their highly anticipated Autumn-Winter 2021 season.

Located in the heart of the building, directly beneath the well-trodden dancefloors of the venue’s iconic Press Halls, Inkwells is a brand new space, opening for the first time in the venue’s history.

Once home to huge ink tanks supplying the giant printing presses that still loom over the Press Halls today, Inkwells is an architecturally striking space with low ceilings, colonnades of beaten concrete pillars and a stripped-back, industrial aesthetic that is unmistakably Printworks, yet uniquely different.

Not only does the dark and visceral nature of Inkwells perfectly compliment the cavernous Press Halls, this new space allows Printworks to expand their music programming, carving out a platform to showcase a wide range of new, exciting sounds and talent.

As a venue that has already achieved international acclaim for its audio-visual experience, Inkwell’s lighting will be focussed on complimenting the industrial architecture of the room, highlighting the historical ink distribution pipes, pillars and electrical services within the space. Stacks of speakers and subs will be staggered across the room to give maximum sound coverage and clarity.

The launch of Inkwells has been many months in the making and is a sign of Printworks’ driving desire to ensure their reopening season is their best to date.

The Redacted reopening weekend and launch of Inkwells mark a new chapter for Printworks London as they prepare to welcome their community back for an experience unlike anything else.

Commenting on the new space, Broadwick Live’s Managing Director, Bradley Thompson said “As we prepare to open our doors again, it’s exciting to announce another evolution in the Printworks story. As a business we are committed to constantly bettering the experience for all our guests across our venue portfolio and the addition of the Inkwells allows us to programme even more incredible artists and talent for the upcoming Printworks London season and beyond.“

Printworks London reopens with Redacted on the 17, 18 and 19th of September 2021.

The full Autumn-Winter 2021 will be announced on Tuesday 10th August. Signup for priority access to tickets: printworkslondon.co.uk

PISTONHEAD (1)

70,000 Free Pistonhead Beers offered to Grassroots Music Venues to support Reopening

It has been a devastating 18 months for the hospitality sector. Hundreds of venues have closed. Thousands of live events and festivals have been cancelled. Artists and creatives have had nowhere to perform. Because of this, leading craft beer specialists Pistonhead are throwing their considerable weight and support behind grassroots venues and the reopening on July 19th by giving away 70,000 free cans of Pistonhead Kustom Lager via an online application HERE.

Musicians have not had a platform on which to perform and the knock on effect has hit everyone from crew to sound and lighting engineers, security personnel, bar staff and other casual employees who rely on the hospitality sector for their income. It has been brutal but a little help is on the way from Pistonhead.

“The UK’s grassroots music venues have been amongst the hardest hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. Many have shut forever, plenty have struggled to just survive long enough to be able to reopen. The Pistonhead Foundation campaign will go some way towards helping struggling venues get back on their feet which in turn will provide a wealth of much needed opportunities for musicians up and down the country desperate to get back to doing what they do best.” Michael Kill – Night Times Industries Association (NTIA)

Help comes from The Pistonhead Foundation which launched in early 2019 and is dedicated to helping up and coming musicians, artists and independent venues in an increasingly difficult environment. So far the Foundation has hosted fundraising events for independent music venues, record labels and artists and continues to offer artists unique spaces to showcase their work.

This latest project will see The Pistonhead Foundation give away 70,000 free cans of beer with a resale value in excess of £300k to grassroots venues to help get cash in the tills, punters at the bar and musicians back performing. Venues can apply for an allocation of this stock through The Pistonhead Foundation HERE.

For the last decade, Pistonhead has been crafted by specialist brewmasters at the awesome Brutal Brewing workshop in Sweden. Their beers include a dark, full-bodied brew, those double dry-hopped with tropical fruit and citrus flavours and pilsner style lagers as well as light and unfiltered brews, all at very affordable prices. Pistonhead is a brew made by people who are incredibly serious and hugely passionate about what they do and about all forms of creativity, individuality and rock ‘n’ roll attitudes. For this reason, they are standing by their creative brethren with this bold new initiative.

Venues can apply for an allocation of this stock from July 19th onwards through The Pistonhead Foundation HERE
Deitz MINI

Forty cities, hundreds of parties, and countless smiles beneath sunny skies and vibrant surroundings—this is the legacy of the All Day I Dream movement. For ten years, the Lee Burridge-run record label and roving events brand has captured the hearts of thousands across the globe, enamored by the infectious energy, distinct production, and top curation of each event. And after a long period of isolation, summer welcomes Dreamers to gather once again. All Day I Dream’s world tour sets off in late June, hosting twelve shows in eight locales with more to be announced.

All Day I Dream reprises its residencies on the idyllic shores of Mykonos and Ibiza, where Lee Burridge and his label compatriots will take over clubs Scorpios and Cova Santa for multiple sessions of seaside festivities. In mid-July, the brand returns to Bloomendaal for a showcase at Woodstock ‘69—its first since 2018. Rounding out its European ventures, All Day I Dream will be received at its London home of Studio 338 for an unforgettable dance amidst the urban skyline.

Heading West, All Day I Dream commences its USA journey at its birthplace in Brooklyn for a homecoming bacchanale at the Brooklyn Mirage. Longtime fans in Los Angeles and San Francisco eagerly await their dose of house music heaven at All Day I Dream’s iconic bases of Gin Ling Way and Golden Gate Park. After making its lauded debut in Denver, Colorado, All Day I Dream can at last touch back down in the mile high city at Levitt Pavilion, an open-air venue suited perfectly for the brand’s whimsical aesthetic. Chicago will also get its own takeover in August.

Though the world shut down over a year ago, Lee Burridge and All Day I Dream never abandoned their mission to foster deep connections and joy amongst their followers. Sunday All Day I Stream sessions with a revolving cast of labelmates and an illustrious residency at Sirius XM allowed the community to gather weekly on the digital plane. The label has also witnessed one of its most robust release schedules to date with Tim Green, Lost Desert, Gorje Hewek, Fulltone, Amonita, and others outputting ethereal slices of deep house each month. To mark All Day I Dream’s tenth birthday, Lee Burridge also released his first-ever solo EP on the imprint.

Now it is time for Dreamers to reconnect physically on their favorite dancefloor to swap stories of resilience, hear new label releases live for the first time, and move freely under wide open skies. Join All Day I Dream for what’s set to be one of its most memorable summers yet; and as Lee said himself “it will be that little bit better if you are there.”
