After many painful postponements, the wait is nearly over. The time has almost come to set a new standard. Scottish nightlife has re-opened, and Terminal V is set to again prove why it is such a game-changing event.

This year’s epic Halloween event on Saturday, October 30th and 31st will see 20,000 people per day party across five bespoke stages with tens of world-class superstars including Amelie Lens, Sven Vath, Helena Hauff, Ben UFO, Nina Kraviz, Robert Hood (LIVE), Marcel Dettmann x DJ Stingray 313, Haai, Honey Dijon, Derrick Carter, Maceo Plex, Tale of Us, Eats Everything, The Blessed Madonna, KiNK (LIVE), Octo Octa x Eris Drew, Shanti Celeste x Moxie, Man Power, Mike Servito, Dax J, and many more are all ready to set a new benchmark for Scottish events.

Previously a one-day event, Terminal V now offers two full days of partying which is an exciting and rewarding move for the thousands of music lovers who have lost out on 18+ months of festivals and nightlife. 95% of tickets are sold out so head to www.terminalv.co.uk to be part of this historic event.

It has been a challenging year for all, but Terminal V never gave up. After putting on some of the boldest and most adventurous parties in Europe in recent years, the team has spent the pandemic working hard on a comeback event like no other. As the first supersized event in 18 months, Terminal V Halloween will have an extra special sense of magic in the air as well as a blistering soundtrack from a real who’s who of the modern underground landscape. With so much time to plan this huge blowout, you can expect next-level immersive lighting, brain-altering visuals and special themed production to make this one play out like a spooky nocturnal adventure.

It is Terminal V’s attention to detail and devotion to serving up experience like no other that has stood them apart in recent years. Each of these now-iconic seasonal events has sold out, yet in just four years Terminal V’s events have grown from 2000(1 day) to 40,000(over 2 days) in capacity despite a pandemic sandwiched in between. These epic events have truly made the raw, vast warehouse spaces that make up the site at The Royal Highland Centre and showground in Edinburgh’s outskirts their home.

You can be sure there is no festival quite like and as magnificent and sensory-stimulating as a Terminal V event anywhere in Europe and that will be the case at Halloween.

Amongst the many highlights is the fact that on Saturday, Nina Kraviz will be closing the biggest stage, named Area V, in blistering fashion, and Amelie Lens will shut it down with a bang on Sunday. There are also a handful of mouthwatering B2Bs including Ben UFO x Helena Hauff doing only their second-ever face-off, the high energy, much-loved pair of US duo Eris Drew & Octa Octa, unrelenting techno terminators Marcel Dettmann and Detroit’s DJ Stingray 313 and contemporary festival favourites Alan Fitzpatrick and Rebuke.

Says Terminal V’s Derek Martin, “We’ve spent the most part of the past 18 months working with artists, and management rescheduling the event numerous times, yet further building the festival site , stages and lineup. It has been amazing to see our customers standing by us throughout these unprecedented times, keeping hold of their tickets and allowing us to ensure the event takes place in the months ahead. That has given us even more drive to deliver the very best event we can.”

I Love Funky_Square (1080x1080)

Rinse presents I LOVE: Funky

Music institution, Rinse, launch new project I LOVE:, delving deep into some of the UK’s most influential contemporary music cultures with a specially curated series of events, documentaries and compilations.

From humble beginnings as a pirate radio station, Rinse has been at the beating heart of grassroots music movements in the UK for more than two decades. As a driving force behind some of contemporary music’s most influential genres like dubstep, grime and UK Garage, Rinse has intimate knowledge of those involved, the cultural contexts and continued legacy, placing them in a unique position to tell these stories from an insider’s perspective.

With just a handful of episodes planned each year, the new series kicks off on Saturday 9th October 2021 with I LOVE: FUNKY at Ministry Of Sound.

A quintessentially British music movement that truly represents the cosmopolitan melting pot of cultural influences, Funky takes inspirations from across afrobeat, UK garage, tribal, house, soca, broken beat, grime and more. Reaching mainstream success in the mid-naughties with chart hits and packed out dancefloors across the UK, Funky’s legacy continues to inspire new generations of producers and music fans alike.

For I LOVE: FUNKY, Rinse will showcase the genre across four rooms of music with Ministry’s iconic main room, The Box, featuring Funky’s biggest originators. Crazy Cousinz with Versatile are responsible for some of the genre’s biggest hits including ‘Go’, ‘Do You Mind’ and ‘Bongo Jam’. Legendary collective, Circle, made up of Tippa, Kismet, Fever, Supa D & IC are also confirmed, with further sets from Rinse Founder Geeneus alongside Katy B for her first live Funky performance in over 10 years, prolific figure Marcus Nasty and Pioneer alongside Spidey G. Live PAs will also come from Shingai Shoniwa performing Dennis Ferrer’s timeless classic ‘Hey Hey’ and the smooth vocal stylings of Donae’O performing ‘Party Hard’ and ‘Devil In A Blue Dress’.

Room 2 will celebrate the pioneering producers, tune creators and beat makers at the core of Funky’s infectious sound starting with Apple – the man credited with creating one of Funky’s first tracks ‘Dutty Dance’. DJ Naughty brought a tougher, more percussive style to Funky and Hard House Banton’s iconic track ‘Sirens’ showcases a deep, stripped-back production style. Also confirmed are mainstay Rinse FM radio hosts, Funkystepz, Funky veteran MA1, Fingaprint and Perempay.

Showcasing the current generation of artists pushing Funky’s sounds forward, room three – Baby Box – will host DJ Polo, Juls, Scratch DVA and AYAYA.

Record label CoOp takes over at The Loft with sets from label founders Alex Phountzi and IG Culture alongside cohorts Cengiz and EVM128.

In addition to the Ministry Of Sound showcase, Rinse will also release a documentary featuring key figures of Funky as well as compilation I LOVE: FUNKY Classics – available as both digital and vinyl releases.

The I LOVE: series is the first in a number of new projects from Rinse, with further details announced in the coming weeks.

Commenting on the bold, new project, Rinse Founder, Geeneus said: “After 20 odd years of nurturing and developing underground music genres, it feels like a good time to reflect on them and celebrate all the U.K. underground has achieved. The ILOVE series is a very special and personal project to me, as I have spent my life watching the sound of the underground evolve and I will continue to keep on delivering amazing music that I love.”

Anjunadeep’s release spectrum is getting wider day by day, introducing new artists and organic productions that fall into the range of progressive and deep house. In this release Pampa Records’ boss DJ Koze shows off his interpretation of Lakou Mizik & Joseph Ray ‘Sanba Yo Pran Pale’, a track coming from the album ‘Leave The Bones’ [Anjunadeep, August 2021]. The original is a tight production with a length of two minutes, used as album introduction, with a long speech and chant inside: here it comes DJ Koze that with his remix brings the original to another level, firstly applying a tribal influenced instrumental and after using intelligently the chant of the main theme. The result is appealing and elegant, worthy for a production with the sign of DJ Koze and Anjunadeep.

Continuing its legacy as what the New York Times referred to as a “pilgrimage event on the global techno calendar,” Time Warp today, in partnership with long-term NYC collaborators Teksupport, announced the bill for its return to New York this Fall, following a two year hiatus. its new Brooklyn location will play host to two days of audiovisual technical immersion soundtracked by some of house and techno’s top talent.

Time Warp will showcase a mélange of underground heroes from around the world, including several who’ve become central pillars to the event and its community over its storied 27 year history. Global scene shaper and recent Prada collaborator Richie Hawtin reprises his headlining role—a duty he’s carried on with diligence since Time Warp’s 1995 Mannheim debut. Chilean iconoclast veteran Ricardo Villalobos makes a return as well, this time alongside longtime b2b partner and Tyrant co-founder Craig Richards. Villalobos remains a rare delicacy stateside, but thanks to his deep-rooted ties to the Time Warp and Teksupport families, fans have been able to witness his brilliance twice in New York the past seven years.

Âme, whose Time Warp legacy kicked off in 2007 brings a slice of Berlin house to the party. Second State owners Pan-Pot also represent Berlin, alongwith Ostgut Ton/Berghain figureheads Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann for a rare b2b—all three of whom were inducted into the family in 2012. Seth Troxler rounds out the list of historic talents to grace the roster. The political activist, multilabel head, and Lost Souls of Saturn member has been an annual fixture at Time Warp’s flagship Mannheim event since 2011

Techno always takes center stage at Time Warp New York, with all sides of the spectrum covered by its all-star cast. On the melodic end, Afterlife stalwarts Adriatique are set to bring their expertise to the decks, while virtuoso Stephan Bodzin will bring a full hardware kit to the show. Industrial aficionados will enjoy performances by Paula Temple, Kobosil, and a live showing by Reinier Zonneveld. International superstar Nina Kraviz will serve up her signature high-tempo mix of techno and electro cuts, while KiNK will showcase his impressive penchant for improvisation on his array of keyboards and synths.

Time Warp’s communal ethos extends to the cities it touches, as such, New York talent will be spotlighted with local mainstays DESNA, Avision, Shahar, mink, and O.BEE on display.

Since its 2014 debut in New York, Time Warp has made the city a second home with local impresario Teksupport as its chosen partner. Its 2019 return saw fans gathered from across the nation to celebrate 25 years of Time Warp, which also marked the first large-scale underground dance music event to happen in the Bronx. The results were massive, ushering in a new era for the global brand and a bright chapter for American house and techno enthusiasts. Following a forced two year break since, fans can expect peak energy for its grand 2021 return.

Teksupport has produced some of New York’s most unique and exciting parties of recent years. They have scouted the city to unearth new locations, throwing parties in submarine factories, navy yards, subterranean ballrooms and industrial warehouses, building a reputation for pairing raw spaces with world class event production. Their 2021 summer season played a role in reasserting the city’s prominence as an underground dance music mecca, hosting the likes of DJ Tennis, The Martinez Brothers, Sven Väth, Guy Gerber, Dixon, Perel, and more.

Time Warp’s return to New York will follow its prodigal return to Mannheim October 30 2021 before heading south to its Brazil HQ of São Paulo. Head to their website for more information on their international events and to sign up for tickets.

See you on the dance floor….
