Kmyle returns after a few years on Skryptöm with ‘Apocalypse Basement Dance EP’, a release that deserves some attention because the wave of freshness bring by the artist into his style. Nowdays the lack of music events and the increase of people who spend their time at home involved the artists too, who stay more time than before in the studio. The number of published tracks increased at the expense of originality and diversification. Fortunately the five tracks coming from Kmyle’s EP feature a distinguishable sound research, which make them catchy and solid.

These longer sets where Enzo can take audiences on a real journey have ignited his original love and passion for the art of DJing, and as we enter a new era of raving, Enzo is taking the reins to be able to express himself without limitation.

Enzo Siragusa – “E:DIMENSION is about reconnecting to the journey element of DJing, which I believe to be a fundamental part of the craft. It’s an opportunity for fans old and new to come on a journey with me where I can play with complete freedom and push my musical boundaries. When playing longer, journey type DJ sets it becomes transcendental, and a really special connection happens between the crowd and the DJ. A connection I want to explore further and more frequently because the experience blows me away every time, reminds me why I do what I do, and that I love DJing.”

For the initial run of events, Enzo takes E:DIMENSION to some of the UKs most revered club spaces in the UK, kicking off with Printworks in London. Very few have hosted the Printworks Press Halls solo, and it’s the perfect space and city to open this new chapter of events.

Fabio & Grooverider announce another huge Return to RAGE party back to the legendary night’s original central London location Heaven – London Under the Arches WC2.

The last event was a roadblock sell out so get ya tickets fast!

RAGE was a weekly Thursday night party started in 1988 at the height of Acid House fever. RAGE was a different beast. While it certainly channeled some of that Acid energy, it pitted it against the new and exciting sounds emanating from Belgium, Amsterdam, Detroit, Sheffield, Essex and Hackney and in turn created a new style, a new sonic attitude and energy in the process. Rumbling bass-lines, narcotic synth rushes and roughly chopped and sped-up breakbeats all merged into a style that we now know as Jungle. Nothing like this had been heard before, this was a brand new style and it was coming out of London’s West End and Fabio & Grooverider were the people firmly behind it.

As Fabio & Grooverider explain “playing an irresistible brand of New York house, German Techno and UK Breakbeat we were breaking the rules by speeding up some records and chopping up breakbeats using just record decks and a mixer, inspiring producers to make tracks in a new futuristic style, this music would become known as Jungle. Coupled with a young, mixed crowd which consisted of gangsters, models, rude boys and Pop stars, London had never seen anything quite like RAGE, it was the entrance point to a brave new world, artists from Carl Cox to a young wide-eyed Goldie were part of an ecstatic audience. Heaven was the perfect place to hold such an event a big cavernous space with maze like tunnels, a lashing sound system and amazing visuals, this was indeed a labyrinth. RAGE ran for four years, in that time it changed the landscape of dance music. It was a daring glimpse into the future and still ranks as one of the highlights of our career. There will never be another night like RAGE, dance music has changed too much so for those who were there, they will never forget the rapturous energy. The birthplace of Jungle. For those who weren’t there, you missed something magical.”

Return to RAGE will see Fabio & Groove go in on all the RAGE classics in a very special 3 hour set , joined by original RAGE resident Trevor Fung plus house and rave legends Adamski, Alternat8, Brandon Block, Smokin Jo and a Live PA from powerhouse Rozalla performing her no.1 anthem everybodys free. Room 2 will see Fabio & Groove play a history of Jungle set alongside a carefully curated line-up of original Junglists as well as an upfront drum & bass room.

Return to RAGE will be a masterclass in the old-school. The roots. Expect no filler, only killer all night.

RAGE was an original brand of the pure organization.

AVA Festival 2022

BICEP, MURA MASA, JON HOPKINS, BIIG PIIG, FLOORPLAN, I HATE MODELS, VTSS,  ROSS FROM FRIENDS, OVERMONO, LSDXOXO, GEMMA DUNLEAVY, LOGIC1000 & more for AVA 2022

AVA’s heavyweight lineup features Brit & Grammy-nominated acts, welcomes new genres, champions local talent, all taking place in a brand new Titanic Quarter waterfront site.

3 + 4 JUNE 2022 || TITANIC SLIPWAYS, BELFAST

WEEKEND TICKETS FROM £85 – avafestival.com/tickets

AVA Belfast has evolved into what is undoubtedly one of the most important festival events in Northern Ireland’s ever-expanding cultural calendar. Across the 3rd + 4th June for the 2022 edition, AVA invites international icons from the live and electronic worlds to the heart of Belfast city to play alongside the grassroots Southern and Northern Irish talent that inspired AVA from day one.

BICEP, MURA MASA, JON HOPKINS, BIIG PIIG, FLOORPLAN, I HATE MODELS, VTSS, TSHA, SPECIAL REQUEST, GEMMA DUNLEAVY, ROSS FROM FRIENDS (LIVE), OVERMONO (LIVE), LOGIC1000, LSDXOXO, CALIBRE, SHERELLE, PROSPA (LIVE), SAMA’ ABDULHADI, SOICHI TERADA (LIVE), GIANT SWAN (LIVE) and more will descend on AVA’s new home at the Titanic Slipways.

In what will be an emotional affair, Belfast’s biggest electronic export BICEP returns to AVA for their largest homecoming show to date. BICEP’s meteoric fame saw the duo rise from party planners and bloggers to 2x BRIT Award nominees with a UK Number 2 album, ISLES. BICEP’s productions are the soundtrack to Belfast city, and AVA are ecstatic to have them back.

Also on board is 3x Grammy-nominated producer, Mura Masa aka Alex Crossan, making his AVA debut. Known for his optimistic productions, Mura Masa has won international recognition and Platinum-selling records. His list of collaborators includes A$AP Rocky, Charli XCX, Slowthai and more. Repping for the leftfield is Jon Hopkins, esteemed composer crafting sounds for the nighttime mind, body and soul. Jon joins June’s event with a DJ set that will be a celestial interpretation of techno with a powerful visual show by Dan Tombs. Irish rapper / singer Biig Piig aka Jess Smyth has rocketed to fame with her smooth take on rap and neo-soul. Already having racked up millions of plays on Spotify, Biig Piig’s slick and sedative sound has seen her recognised as one of Ireland’s most important current live exports.

Experimental electronic sounds come from Bristol’s vibrant punk x techno crossover duo Giant Swan, whilst harder techno explorations come from I Hate Models and a beacon of the genre and recent Mixmag cover star – VTSS. Dancefloor drama in the form of Baltimore club, breaks and ghetto house comes courtesy of LSDXOXO, with break-through party-starters Logic1000 and Bklava also set to thrill. Of course, there’s plenty more to keep an eye out for – soulful house from Floorplan, plus high BPM, rave NRG from Kessler, Calibre and Hooversound Records boss, Sherelle. Overmono, Soichi Terada on a new album tour, Ross From Friends will all perform live electronic sets in what will be a serious weekender for all electronic music fans.

After the success of 2021’s ‘The Grasses’ stage, AVA again invites rap, soul, RnB, Punk and crossover live names for 2022 who add different energy. Last year saw moshpits at Kojaque and singalongs with Gemma Dunleavy who will return to the festival – and this year ups the ante with Biig Piig, Enola Gay, Mango x Mathman, Monjola all performing live shows.

Irish talent from both the North and South play a vital role in the programme. The motivation behind AVA was to highlight the incredible talent coming out of Ireland, and that will always be at the heart of the festival. Crews and collectives like Twitch, EVE and Plain Sailing, upstarts like Jordan Nocturne, Holly Lester and Cartlon Doom, and of course – long term legends will all be representing the Irish contingent in 2022.

“Excited to announce our festival lineup for 2022 which includes bringing 13 Belfast debuts to our new home at the Titanic Slipways. We’re proud to be continuing to support Irish talent including Bicep, Biig Piig, Calibre, Gemma Dunleavy, Kessler, Enola Gay, Mark Blair, Holly Lester & ELLLL, and diversifying our lineup with international artists across genres like Jon Hopkins, Mura Masa, Ross From Friends, LSDXOXO, Sherelle, TSHA, Soichi Terada + more.”Emmett Costello, Head of Programming, AVA Festival

‘There is something very special about bringing together many minds, energies and artists in a City like Belfast. It’s an explosion of joy, an atmosphere wrapped up in yeo’s and arms punching the air from the moment we open the doors. Our City, our people, is as much a part of the lineup, as each artist we put on the bill, and we can’t wait to bring it back all together again.’ Sarah McBriar – Founder, AVA Festival

AVA is a community affair, and outside of the quality programme, there’s a tonne of other reasons to get involved. A visit to the city itself, or the chance to experience one of the liveliest set of festival-goers on the planet; the Belfast craic is the best. For anyone wanting to visit Belfast, AVA allows visitors to experience the local creative culture from an insider’s angle. AVA is a key part of the city’s fabric, working with Tourism Ireland and Arts Council NI each year to make the event possible, as well as creating hundreds of opportunities, jobs, and resources through their events.

AVA also offers joint accommodation options, which will for the first time include camping – ranging from Bell Tents through to standard camping. Happy campers will be situated in Victoria Park, just minutes walk away from AVA, and close to the city centre. Flight tickets from most major UK / European airports are affordable and the city has plenty of accommodation options. AVA Belfast 2022 is supported by Arts Council Northern Ireland

Dimensions marked a stunning start to the new chapter at The Garden Resort of Tisno last year, and in 2022 the acclaimed underground festival builds on that legacy with a 10th anniversary edition from 1—5 September 2022. It goes down with a tastefully curated list of headliners, back to back exclusives, label parties, UKG celebrations, Detroit specials, debut sets and much more. For full information and tickets, head to https://www.dimensionsfestival.com.

Croatia’s Garden Resort is nestled in a natural paradise on the Dalmatian coastline with glistening seas, a sweeping beach and pine forests forming the backdrop. During the festival weekend, it comes alive with an array of hugely popular boat parties, baking sunshine and beach-side sessions by day and star-lit skies for open air dancing at the cult Barbarella’s Discotheque by night – a famous site with views over the bay which will host a rich array of afterparties, for which line-ups will be revealed soon and passes are already on sale.

Since 2012, Dimensions is famed for its attention to production details like light and sound, as well as its hard earned musical heritage, seriously music loving crowd and diverse, community minded spirit. All of which will return once again this summer with another musical programme that covers all shades of bass, house, techno, electro, garage, disco and plenty in between.

Amongst many highlights, Detroit lands in Croatia this summer with Detroit In Effect, Marcellus Pittman and DJ Stingray 313 making appearances from the Motor City. There are plenty of exciting partnerships lined-up this year with revered party crew Trommel and tasteful minimal associates such as Raresh, Sonja Moonear, Quest, Vlada, Anthea and Unai Trottil, while ISAbella’s MARICAS party is also returning and Electronic maestros Steevio & Suzybee host a special Freerotation presentation. Mala is back with his much loved bass-heavy selections, and after being postponed from 2021 Francesco Del Garda, LSDXOXO, Peach, Zakia, DVS1 and Malika will finally join the party.

In terms of debuts, Eris Drew & Octa Octa present a T4T LUV NRG takeover, Jossy Mitsu, Sherelle and LCY all play for the first time, Slow Life make an appearance with founders Laurine and Cecilio, and on top of that Paula Tape, Adam Pitts, Azu Tiwaline, Russel E.L Butler, Club Fitness, Jamie Tiller, Jeremy Sylvester, Marie Montexier, Quest and Vlada all arrive at Dimensions for the first time.

You can also expect thrilling sets of drum & bass from Calibre, Djrum and DJ Storm, slick minimal from scene-leaders Raresh, Sonja Moonear, Quest, Vlada, Anthea and Unai Trotti, carefully curated eclecticism from BeatPete, Jamie Tiller, Zakia, Nabihah Iqbal, OKO DJ, Jaye Ward and Ruf Dug.

Sónar Lisboa closes its musical programme with over 70 acts

The first edition of Sónar Lisboa closes its musical programme, opens ticket sales for all venues and reveals lineup by Day and by Night

The countdown begins for Sónar Lisboa 2022, which will be held on the 8th, 9th and 10th April in different emblematic locations of the Portuguese capital. The inaugural edition will feature over 70 shows including performances by Arca, Bicep, Thundercat, Leon Vynehall, Polo & Pan and DJ Nigga Fox; and DJ sets by The Blaze, Charlotte de Witte, Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin, Honey Dijon, Dixon and Nídia, among many others.

Sónar Lisboa 2022, three days and nights of exploration
Lisboa is now on the home stretch towards its first edition of Sónar.

Arca, Bicep, DJ Shadow, Partiboi69, Overmono, Dixon and Richie Hawtin are some of the most prominent international names amongst the 40 acts that have joined the Sónar Lisbon 2022 line-up today. They join previously announced acts The Blaze, Charlotte de Witte, Nina Kraviz, Floating Points, India Jordan, Honey Dijon, Héctor Oaks, Nicola Cruz, Thundercat, and many others.

The vibrant Portuguese scene is widely represented throughout the lineup. DJ Marfox, Shaka Lion, DJ Lycox and Nídia have already been announced, and now others such as BLEID, Acid Alice, Violet live, Helena Guedes, and an acclaimed live performance by Angolan-Portuguese DJ Nigga Fox, have been added to the list.

The festival will take place on 8th, 9th and 10th April at Pavilhão Carlos Lopes, the Coliseu dos Recreios and the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, with the Hub Criativo do Beato hosting the Sónar+D programme. These four emblematic spaces will showcase the Portuguese capital at its finest and act as the venues for a journey of discovery through advanced music, creativity and technology.

Sónar by Day – Friday 8th, Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th of April
Sónar by Day activities will kick off on Friday 8 April at the Hub Criativo do Beato, located in the Fábrica do Pão de Factory Lisboa. A full programme of talks, workshops, debates, demos, immersive experiences and exhibitions will take place there, as well as meetings between professionals and the general public. The conferences will explore intersections between art and creativity, between technology and research, and between music and science, with Our Planet and Humanity as the key themes. Over three days, the programme will use  virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI) and visual arts to explore the topic of sustainability.

On Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April, the musical programme of Sónar by Day will take over the Pavilhão Carlos Lopes. On Saturday, the French-touch house sound of The Blaze (DJ); Honey Dijon’s buoyant yet potent mix of disco, house and techno; and a live performance by Ecuadorian producer Nicola Cruz taking in sounds from across the world, will take centre stage. On Sunday, Sónar Lisboa will dance to the rhythm of 90s-style breaks – with a hint of UK garage – during Overmono’s DJ set,  and groove to Jayda G’s fusion of Chicago-house and lo-fi glamour, plus a hotly anticipated set of pop-scented sampletronica from French duo Polo & Pan.

Sónar by Night, Friday 8th and Saturday April 9th

Sónar by Night will extend its musical program between Friday and Saturday, both at the Pavilhão Carlos Lopes and at the Coliseu dos Recreios and Centro de Congressos de Lisboa.

The night of Friday, April 8th will feature high quality live performances, including  the revolutionary Venezuelan artist Arca, making her debut in Lisboa to present her highly acclaimed quartet of recently released albums, cult Detroit producer Stingray 313 or Los Angelese multi-instrumentalist Thundercat. Top flight club music will be represented by a host of undisputed modern icons, such as Charlotte de Witte and Dixon, as well as legends of the scene who continue to break new ground today, like Richie Hawtin. Other names who are heating up, such as Madrid’s Héctor Oaks, or adventurous DJs like DJ Nigga Fox, BLEID and Nídia, representing the most forward-thinking sounds of the Portuguese underground, will also man the booth.

Eclecticism takes over Sónar Lisboa on Saturday 9th April. Northern Ireland’s Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson will present their latest album Isles live, showing why Bicep are one of the biggest names in contemporary electronic music. Some of the highlights: an acid techno recital from Nina Kraviz; the percussive bass sound of Dengue Dengue Dengue; Enchufada Na Zona showcasing Lisboa’s unique cultural mix, a ground-breaking new live set from Leon Vynehall; Australian ghetto-freak Partiboi69; two masterclasses in dancefloor demolition from Berlin, with FJAAK live and Ellen Allien b2b Dr. Rubinstein; and wild, borderless revelry of rRoxymore.

Sónar Lisboa 2022 is organized by Pixel Harmony, which brings together the partners Made of You (Gustavo Pereira, Paulo Amaral, Raul Duro), João Wengorovius Meneses, Patricia Craveiro Lopes, Gonçalo Félix da Costa and Kiss, and it is supported by Turismo de Portugal, Câmara Municipal de Lisboa and Turismo de Lisboa.

RISEN
Saturday 9th April 2022 | Hackney Wick, London

A brand new multi-venue, one-day festival launching in April 2022, Risen is a new initiative that is centered around the divine feminine, taking place in London’s Hackney Wick on Saturday 9th April 2022.

The concept behind Risen is the ‘divine feminine’ – and the booking policy explores the diversity of the electronic music spectrum in both sound and representation. From house and disco to garage and techno, attendees can dive into Hackney Wick’s labyrinth of clubs and venues to seek out their favourite sonic exploration. Whether it’s left-leaning bass and techno explorations from Madam X, or feel-good house and disco selections from RAW SILK, Risen’s programming stretches to offer something for the most diverse of audio pallets. The policy is simple – the dancefloor is open to all, and there’s a new energy powering the initial Risen outing.

The first of its kind, Risen offers up something totally new in terms of programming and includes talent ranging from grassroots rising stars, revered international legends and esteemed crews, all of who represent the feminine energy. Visibility and inclusion have been a key part of the Risen programming, and the first edition will be something special to shout about – paying homage to the groups and individuals who are driving forward a progressive club culture.

“Having worked for many years to help balance gender inequality across the electronic music world, I’ve always dreamt of putting together a festival that focuses fully on this. Thanks to working for Percolate, this dream has come to a reality and alongside Alice Franklin (Senior Social Strategist) and Maria Grzeszczyk (Logistics & Event Manager) a shared vision has finally come to life. Risen is a festival run by women to shine a light on the up-and-coming talent who work so tirelessly across the music industry, be that DJs, event managers, graphic designers, lighting techs and so on. It’s time for a new energy…” – Kitty Bartlett, Senior Booker and Events Manager

Secretsundaze turns 20 with Parties across Multiple London Venues

UK clubbing institution Secretsundaze is to celebrate 20 years of definitive party experiences with a number of special events throughout 2022. The fist part of this year-long series kicks off at fabric on January 30th with more to follow on March 12th at Colour Factory, April 14th at Venue MOT, May 14th at Oval Space and July 9th at multiple Hackney Wick venues. Esteemed co-founders and residents Giles Smith and James Priestley will anchor each party with guests including Jeremy Underground, Paramida, Galcher Lustwerk, Ash Lauryn, Jamie Tiller, Shy One and more to be announced.

In many ways, Secretsundaze is the last of its kind; the famously familial party first began as a way for house heads, James and Giles, to play records to their mates. It was simply about following hearts not hype and connecting with like-minded people through music and dancing. There has, however, never been any expense spared when it comes to production; a Secretsundaze dance floor is always a place of bright colour and lush design and will also be notably diverse.

Over the last 20 years, the party has called many of the capital’s most revered venues home, as well as hosting all around the world, establishing a much-loved residency in Barcelona and one-off events at Robert Johnson, Closer, Off Week and tons more. Whoever is playing (hundreds of tasteful headliners have included the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Omar S, Move D, Peach, Antal, Carista, Roman Flügel, Shanti Celeste, Floating Points and plenty more) you will find a perfect mix of past, present and future sounds with authentic roots and a timeless spirit. This is also reflected in Secretsundaze’s record label and community-focused recording studio, both of which stick to the mantra, ‘True Dance Music Spirit.’

Further to that is the Dance 2 Sustain initiative which was introduced to Secretsundaze events in 2020 as a way of taking action against climate change. Measures include a £1 “green tax” on tickets, which is used to implement a reusable plastic cup solution at all events, saving over 28,000 cups from going to landfill in 2021 alone. The party’s also committed to negotiating the use of train travel for international artists, offsetting flights where this isn’t possible and booking more local / UK talent.

Co-founder James Priestley says, “We feel super lucky to have been able to do what we love for so long and we really wouldn’t be here without the support of our incredible community, a constant source of inspiration and strength. Whilst it’s great to take stock on reaching the 20-year milestone, we’re even more excited about what the future holds and the various different directions we’re planning to take things. Long live Sundaze!”

The anniversary celebrations kick off with Giles and James playing an extended set in fabric’s iconic Room 2. This is a fitting opening event that harks back to the early days of Secretsundaze as it is a Sunday party that runs from 2pm until 10:30pm. Room 2 is newly refurbished and with a brilliantly high-spec sound system so this one promises to be an intimate and altogether perfect gathering. After that, March 12th sees new school talents Ash Lauryn, Alex Kassian and Aqwea join James and Giles at choice Hackney Wick spot Colour Factory, then on April 14th Sundaze heads to stripped back, rave-ready Bermondsey spot Venue MOT Unit 18 for an Easter special (details TBA).

May 14th will be a classic Secretsundaze day and night summer opening party at Oval Space featuring a UK debut for US rapper, DJ and producer Galcher Lustwerk’s brand new live show, Bianca Lexis, Jonny Rock and many more still to be announced.

Lastly for now, July 9th will be another day and night party spread across five dance floors in prime Hackney Wick spots which will all celebrate the long-running open-air dancing tradition that defines Secretsundaze. Instead of a heavy reliance on big headliners, the line-up will focus on over 15 Sundaze favourites from across the dance music spectrum, with all getting lengthy sets to stretch into the deepest corners of their collections.

Limited, low-cost tickets are already on sale for all these dates so move quickly before the full lineups are revealed; these magical events are sure to sell out. Tickets; ra.co
