Hamza Rahimtula ‘Banjara Series, Tibet’

Artist: Hamza Rahimtula
Title: Banjara Series, Tibet
Label: Wind Horse Records
Cat. #: WHR059
Format: Digital
Release Date: March 18th, 2022

India native music producer Hamza Rahimtula returns on his Wind Horse Records publising a new episode under the ‘Banjara Series’ title, this time the track ensemble is dedicated to Tibet and has been made in collaboration with Yungchen Lhamo and David Hykes. The whole album result is great and features many shades of contemporary deep and progressive house, mixed genuinely with tribal/world music. Each song has got its own vibe, which seem rich and organic, most of the times it’s strictly related to Tibet culture: you can find tipycal or uncommon instrumental patterns there and there.  It would be reductive to pick a set of notch tracks, the entire tracklist is interesting and offers an embracing listening experience.

Gottwood Festival 2022

Gottwood.co.uk
First release tickets from £180 – https://ra.co/events/1354273

Nestled in a magical spot in the middle of the Anglesey Forest, Gottwood Festival has long been one of electronic music’s best-kept secrets; a carefully curated four-day party for real underground heads with a strong community vibe. Returning for the first time since 2019, the Gottwood family can reveal the first wave of artists for their 2022 edition, featuring Helena Hauff, Hunee, Move D, DJ Format, Extrawelt, Peach, Skream, Nicolas Lutz, 2 Bad Mice, Margaret Dygas, Yung Singh, and more. It’s a solid-gold mix of the usual underground royalty with one-to-watch talent, and of course, there’ll be a weighty selection of crews on board to host across the 10 stages at Carreglwyd estate. Gottwood Festival will take place from 9th June – 12th June 2022, and tickets are available now from £180.

Gottwood Festival has always been a truly independent event for the free-spirited and the wild ones to enjoy the finest in underground music in the most idyllic of woodland settings. After a pause, Gottwood returns with their strongest line-up to date, exploring the expanses of electronic music. There’s tripped-out techno from Palms Traxx, Willikens & Ivkovic, and more, who’ll take ravers on a wild ride with powerful sets, then deep, dark and moody explorations from Rhadoo, Margaret Dygas, Sonja Moonear, and others. Cult techno duo Extrawelt also join with their trademark atmospheric electronic explorations.

Expect high NRG anthems venturing through breaks, bass and house, and maybe a few singalong classics from Saoirse, Eris Drew, Hunee, and Peach, each set to bring their unique magic to the enchanted Gottwood line up. Plus, there are plenty of live acts to catch across the festival days, with Brawther, Children Of Zeus, Max Cooper, Paranoid London, and Soichi Terada just a few of the acts who’ll be going all out with their performances across the weekend. On top of that, there’s so much more for Gottwood’s ravers to look forward to – whether that’s Punjabi garage from the fast-rising star and Daytimers founder Yung Singh, jungle classics from 2 Bad Mice, or what will be an eclectic, joyous deep dive from Nia Archives, there’ll be plenty to discover.

Gottwood’s crews, collectives, and hosts always play a vital part in proceedings, and for this June’s outing, there’s a collection of the usual suspects mixed with new energy and a fresh flavour for the bill. Staples like Gottwaxx, Wigflex, Stamp The Wax, Half Baked and Hit N Run return, with Gottwood newbies Animal Crossing, Adonis, Love International, Plus Ones and Trommel, among others. Trust, Saoirse’s label is also on board.

The community has always been at the heart of the Gottwood ethos, creating an intimate, safe, and secure space for underground music lovers to celebrate together in a beautiful setting in the Welsh Countryside. Each year, Gottwood’s quality line-up has been matched by the stunning country backdrop, plus top-notch production and sound across the show. On-site, there is a range of camping options ranging from standard camping to bell tents and more luxury options. Travel-wise, for those traveling into Wales, Tuned In Travel will be supplying affordable bus services from major towns / cities. The site is easily accessible from all major UK cities and for those traveling by car, there is an onsite car park. More information is available on the Gottwood Website.

From the people behind Warwick and Leamington’s most popular and acclaimed underground party, Access the Festival is about good times, good people and good energy. It is an essential event to kick start the festival season in an exceptionally beautiful spot with space to roam, the freedom to turn it up loud and the chance to make some magical summer memories. After a hugely impressive debut in 2021, now comes round two, which promises to build on that success.

Sherbourne Park is an exquisite green clearing amongst towering trees and with a historic Georgian mansion and picturesque church as the backdrop. It comes alive with an impressive main stage, world class sound and carefully designed production to make for an unmissable weekend getaway in the heart of the countryside.

The line-up this year is second to none and brings in a wealth of international talent with new partners such as London based Disco Disco and the revered Houseum label, whose stage will be recorded and streamed on YouTube. First up is Running Back boss and revered multi-genre master Gerd Janson who is joined by cult Frenchman Jeremy Underground, hugely energetic party starters Octo Octa b2b Saoirse and DJ, radio host, label head and promoter CC:DISCO.

There will be another special back to back between DJOKO and Harrison BDP, melodic techno from Italian duo MATHAME, disco from the legends Crazy P Soundsystem, emotive house grooves from Ninja Tunes man DJ Boring, deep and spaced out selections from Sweely, and plenty from hit making Dutch pair Dam Swindle, UK house man Dan Shake and Marina Trench.  More back to backs come from classy American soul, funk and house dons Byron The Aquarius b2b Jamie 3:26.

Next to the music, there will be a vibrant mix of contemporary art, colourful leisure activities and adrenaline pumping fairground rides as well as plenty of extra surprises to make the experience all the more unforgettable. Keeping you fuelled across both days will be an award winning selection of street food – think handmade pizza, giant burgers, tasty world foods – and mouth watering drinks to tickle all taste buds. There is no parking at the festival site so you are encouraged to take advantage of all-day return bus trips from Leamington Spa and Warwick University campus, which are both just 15 minutes away.

Access was born in 2016 when a group of friends set out to reflect the sound of various UK cities in carefully curated club nights. They saw quick success with thoughtful line-ups and immersive production, and as well as selling out every local event for the past three years, they have also made a mark in London and internationally in France and Hong Kong. Last year came the debut festival and  it set a new benchmark for the region with standout sets for some of the underground’s finest names.

Say event directors Will Darley and Alex Neidhardt, “2022 is going to be the year where Access the Festival truly takes off! We’re channelling all the energy spent getting 21 off the ground in COVID times into upgrading every area. I’m particularly excited about the new Groove Garden stage, it’s going to have the same unique wow factor as the Daylight Disco stage. Especially with the DJs playing in there it’s going to be a vibe.”

Access the Festival 22 is once again set to bring something utterly new and fresh to the region and tickets will sell out, so do not miss your chance to be part of this escapist musical weekend.

Pretty Pink is firmly cementing her presence as a globally-esteemed artist in today’s electronic music industry. Label-head of Deep Woods, not only 2021 was a highlight year for the German-talent as she made her Mixmag Brazil cover story debut.

She rounded off the season with a remix of GRAMMY-nominated trio Above & Beyond. “Above & Beyond feat. One of those is a award from iconic German publication Faze Magazine, who have lauded her as the #1 ‘Best Breakthrough Artist National’ of 2021 in the latest issue – marking another career milestone for the young DJ and producer

Production-wise another landmark event will take place during this year, with the arrival of Pretty Pink’s maiden Anjuna album. It showcases the full-breadth of her song-making capability, traversing the progressive and melodic realms of melodic techno & house, deep house and everything in between.

Add to that confirmed gigs at some of the world’s largest festival stages, including both editions of Tomorrowland 2022 – including her debut on the Tomorrowland Mainstage 17th July 2022 . And it’s safe to say this year looks set to be one of the most successful on record for thriving dance music mainstay Pretty Pink.

Tracing Xircles ‘Xenolith’

Artist: Tracing Xircles
Title: Xenolith
Label: Blue Hour Music
Cat. #: BLUEHOUR018

Release Date: March 4th 2022

Tracing Xircles is set to make public another self-release titled ‘Xenolith’, where the electronic sounds proposed in each song reveal an aggressive behaviour. There’s a little of drum ‘n’ bass, a little of industrial, and some breakbeats there and there, a mixture which the artist has been capable to adapt into his style, detaching from the ‘four to the floor’ rhythm structures recognizable in the previous releases.
