NoSleep22 - DJ Bone - EXIT Photo Team

NO SLEEP FESTIVAL completed its comeback edition with 15,000 Fans!

The third edition of No Sleep, still officially the Best New Festival in Europe, held last weekend at several locations in Belgrade, was a smashing success. In a year when the world music industry is returning in full force after a two-year break, the festival produced by the EXIT team once again showed that Belgrade could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with cities known for their clubbing scenes, such as London, Berlin, or Amsterdam.

The festival’s comeback edition, this time set in the spring, was marked by the performances of some of the top acts in the world of electronic music, such as techno superstar Nina Kraviz, virtuoso composer Stephan Bodzin and rising stars Agents of Time, but also absolute DJing legends such as DVS1, DJ Bone, Sebastian Leger, and DJ Tennis. The undoubted quality of the local scene has been proven once again by Tijana T, Kristijan Molnar, Dejan Milićević, Monosaccharide, Layzie, and dozens of others in clubs throughout Belgrade.

This weekend, the internationally acclaimed Drugstore Club, worked at its maximum capacity, hosting four separate events during the festival, from sold-out hip-hop gigs to after-parties with performers from Germany, South Africa, France, and Turkey. The clubs 20/44, half, Ben Akiba, Dot, and the colossal Silos, were also packed, delighting many visitors from all over Europe, Asia, South America, and even India. For many, this was the third time here!

In addition to the central music programme, the now traditional No Sleep Conference contributed to the 48 hours of uninterrupted fun, gathering many visitors and speakers over the two days. Among the wide range of relevant topics, special attention was paid to the impact of the pandemic and social distancing on the mental health of young people and the global reaction to the so-called “cancel” culture. New possibilities regarding NFT technology in art were also presented, while the panel EXIT the Metaverse gained the most interest, announcing exciting innovations in the festival industry.

Festival founder Dušan Kovačević said EXIT was entering the Metaverse to defend and preserve live experiences.

Our NFT collection will be inspired by and linked to some of the best experiences at and around the festival. We deeply believe that the experiences in the new universe must not be a replacement, but only a supplement to the existing one,” he added.

Jovan Tišma, one of the founders of the SolSea platform and All Art project, emphasised the importance of this step for the festival: “I am glad that EXIT has stepped into this world early and that we can experiment, discover, and explore together.”

After the atypical spring slot, the new edition of the No Sleep Festival will return this fall in its regular November term, and fans will soon be able to sign up for early tickets at the best price. The organisers are also announcing various novelties compared to the previous iterations of the festival.

With this, the EXIT team has kicked off its calendar of events for this year, in which centre stage is taken by the EXIT Festival at the Petrovaradin Fortress from July 7th to 10th, with a line-up led by Calvin Harris, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Iggy Azalea and hundreds of others. EXIT will be preceded by Sea Star on May 27th and 28th in Umag, while the end of August and September will be marked by two events in Montenegro — Sea Dance and Ada Divine Awakening.

RISEN Festival 2022 – That’s a wrap!

THANK YOU FROM RISEN FESTIVAL 💞
An epic celebration of the divine feminine for the first
ever Risen festival

Saturday 9th April | Hackney, London

@divine.risen

A groundbreaking celebration of the Divine Feminine, the first-ever Risen Festival [9th April 2022] was a glorious success. The first of its kind created by the women of Percolate, Risen brought together the most joyous crowd of dancers, party people, performers and artists across 12 venues in London’s vibrant Hackney Wick. Covering the full spectrum of club culture, the Risen team were on a mission to champion female, trans and non-binary artists, DJs, crews, as well as creatives and event staff in the electronic scene. The result was an incredible, colourful and joyful event, amplifying emerging and established talent across the entire electronic sphere.

A truly magical atmosphere was present across all the participating stages, from the Foundation FM takeover in The Lot and Sisu Crew holding down the fort at the Lord Napier Pub, Bristol’s Mix Night’s at the controls within Crate Brewery, bustling with garage edits, bass, jungle and more, to the packed out leafy Yard Terrace – hands in the air from the get go with Tia Cousins, Raw Silk and Amaliah B2B Eliza Rose closing things out, and so much more. The epic after-party in Colour Factory with Copenhagen’s Mama Snake brought the whole event to a close on a pacey trance and techno-fused high.

Risen’s carefully curated diverse programme aimed to represent the expansive sounds of the electronic underground, with individuals, crews and collectives spinning the best in 2-step and garage gems, chunky breakbeats and jungle rippers, euphoric prog house and trance, uplifting disco, sumptuous deep house and electrifying techno. Takeovers and performances from the likes of Foundation FM, B.L.O.O.M., Rhythm Sister, Sisu, Team Woibey, and more, each and every DJ, artist and further crew showcased the incredible female, non-binary and trans talent in the club and live electronic scene.

Sure to become a not to be missed event in the London clubbing calendar, Risen is an exercise in love vibration. The dance floor is open to all, and a new energy starts here. Risen are aiming to drive forward a progressive club culture while celebrating the up & coming talent in the industry. Risen would like to thank everyone who has been a part of their first-ever festival – the collectives, artists, crews, teams, performers and most importantly, each and every dancer who celebrated with us on Saturday.

Patrick Topping announces Trick residency at DC-10

The weekly parties will bring the likes of Eats Everything, Dennis Ferrer, Deborah de Luca, Kevin Saunderson, Skream, Denis Sulta, Ben Hemsley & Ewan McVicar to the White Isle

TICKET LINK HERE

Dance music titan Patrick Topping has unveiled details of the first-ever Ibiza residency for his event series and record label Trick.

Taking place in the legendary DC-10, Trick will welcome a star-studded list of DJs to the White Isle, including label heavyweights such a Eats Everything, Andrea Oliva, Christian Smith and Dense & Pika, as well as  the new stars of the label, such as Ewan McVicar & Ben Hemsley, plus more many up & coming acts from the Trick roster and beyond.

This is a dream come true for me! To have Trick debut at DC10 feels surreal but also the natural home for us, as I’ve played at the club so many times as a resident for Paradise, since 2013.Patrick explains. “DC10 is the coolest club on the Island, so being a part of such a legendary venue is definitely my career highlight so far! I’m buzzing the line-up we have managed to pull together too. Key for me was to have a lot of the label represented and as well pulling in some huge and cutting edge guest names, whilst also booking some of the originators of the scene and being diverse and showing off the variety of sounds Trick is about.”

There is also a massive list of guest slots from the likes of; dance music luminaries Dennis Ferrer and Kevin Saunderson, to contemporary UK favourites Denis Sulta and Skream, Drumcode affiliate Ida Engberg, to the global icon Nora En Pure. The residency kicks off on 1st July, running for nine weeks, taking over both rooms, before closing out on 26th August.

TRICK is already one of the most sought after dance music events in the UK, selling out shows at the most prestigious venues, including Printworks London, Terminal V Edinburgh and The Warehouse Project Manchester, to name a few. Whilst the record label is coming up to it’s 50th release and continues to redefine house & techno for a new generation. The label was responsible for releasing ‘Tell Me Something Good’ by aforementioned Scottish breakout talent Ewan McVicar. The viral smash surged to #15 in the UK ‘Top 20’.

TRICK’s new DC-10 Ibiza residency is the next step for what is one of the most in-demand dance imprints on the scene.

Lighthouse Festival 2022, Lanterna Island, Porec (Croatia)

25. – 29. May 2022, www.lighthousefestival.tv
download the line up text version, press release and photos HERE

After an enforced pandemic break of two years, Lighthouse Festival (LHF) is finally coming back to Lanterna Island on the last weekend of May 2022.

LHF’s motto of ‘electronic music on vacation’ is fully justified by its unique infrastructure on Lanterna peninsula, over which the entire festival grounds are spread. The peninsula offers shopping facilities and restaurants alike, and the accommodation of guests in hotels, apartments and bungalows adds a level of rare comfort to the event. Its exclusive location, together with the nearby seaside and the carefully selected, varied program of contemporary (electronic) music, makes LHFs an outstanding experience of the festival year.

On six stages and with annually changing pop-ups, guests will experience a finely crafted mixture of house, techno, bass and experimental music.

Alongside showcases like Marcel Dettmann’s ‘Bad Manners’, Cruise x Is Burning (Munich x Amsterdam) and a queer villa party by GAZE from Vienna, the following list of artists gives a taste of the line-up from LHF 22: Jane Fitz, Freddy K, CEM, MCMLXXXV, Dr. Rubinstein, DJ Hell, DJ Gigola, Sugar Free, Sweely, Radioactive Man, Steffi x Virginia.

Bookings are handled by Leo Küchler (vince) and Thomas Chaberek (Sumi), who are also in charge at the promoter’s new club ‘praterstrasse’ in Vienna. They have given the LHF a fresh and relevant musical direction in recent years. ‘lichterloh’ is the creative lead and responsible for the curation of all stages and installations. This Viennese duo has been creating internationally respected media art and video installations for 17 years. In addition to installations and stage-designs by Stefan Kainbacher (neongolden), Manuel Biedermann, the VJ’s ‘Black Data’, and ‘The PXLZ’, this year US-based artist Eli Welbourne is responsible for curating the +1 algorithm – a format that invites a face unknown to the curators to the festival each year.

As before, the promoter is committed to turning LHF into a greener festival, and this year’s efforts towards sustainability are the most far-reaching ever, with CO2 compensation for all staff, DJ and artist travel, and the introduction of reusable cups at all bars.

Cosmic Pineapple 2022: Rainbow Light – Season Seven in Ibiza

Cosmic Pineapple 2022 – “Rainbow Light”

Cosmic Boat trip to Es Vedra, Ibiza: May 31 / June 20 / September 21 / October 2

Autumn retreat date TBC

Cosmic Pineapple is a bridge of connection – to the self, the other and planet earth. The unique mini-festival style events – now in their seventh season at Pikes – are a weaving of cosmic and creative tribes and traditions, coming together in the energy of the heart, fun, magic and open curiosity…

All the activities inside the cosmic rainbow are designed to connect, heal and feel good – whether it be the elevating vibrations of music (from DJs to sound healers), teachers – sharing ancient and modern wisdom – meditations, creative expression, dance, healers… Or just relaxing around the pool, shopping in the creative market and having a chat with friends. The intention is for connection, healing and joy. When we feel happy this naturally resonates and we become a light for those around us.
phrank-2021-09-22-08279

Previous year’s offerings range from excellent DJs – including the rising crystalline, Cici, who has been resident since the start, plus guest DJs including Adam Beyer, Afrodeutsche, Ben Westbeech, Carl Craig, Cassy, Ceri, Dan Ghenacia, DJ Tennis, Ellen Allien, Ida Engberg, Jaguar, Jamie Jones, Josh Wink, Sasha, William Djoko… BayBJane sharing creative love of the heart. Yoga from beautiful island teachers including Soul Adventures, Do Yoga, Donna Sami, Ashtanga Butterfly, Samja Wellness… Laor’s VoiceEssence workshop, Lex Empress with SoulSong, drumming workshops from island musician, Yaron… Conscious talks, ranging from sustainable living with Casita Verde, future living with Daniel Pinchbeck, to healthy eating with Creative Cleansing. Mental health talks, meditation, creative expression, sound healing, esoteric wisdom (Tree Carr Dream workshop, Tantra workshops, breathwork, ecstatic dance, womb healing), ancient healing practices and teachings (Huni Kuin Tribe, Moon Dance teachings, Dogon Tribe, Shaman Durek, Mamamoon, cacao ceremonies), nature connection, psychic readings, creative market shopping, poolside fun, Light Painting, delicious food, and much more woven in to your experience…

Last year, Cosmic Pineapple opened a new portal, holding our first live music concert. Pairing with Nixi music, we bought medicine musicians, Curawaka and Mose to the island, as well as Nixi label head, Nils Lausand. It was one of our most special events yet, bringing artists who carry a strong prayer with their music and actions for healing of the earth and humanity, into the cosmic playground.

Cosmic Pineapple is a charity based event. The events are held at the legendary Pikes Hotel in Ibiza, since 2016; an Alice in Wonderland style venue with much to explore and the perfect canvas to paint an event on. This charity ethos is based on aspects of yogic philosophy – mainly Karma Yoga (selfless service) and Bhakti Yoga (devotion) – offering up our ‘practice’ inside to a higher cause than ourselves. We work with causes ranging from earth healing, to abuse, to war zones, to animals and much more, and have raised over 30,000 GBP so far.

This year, as the island and life opens up to a new version of reality, we welcome back the Space Rave and our space to dance, explore our primal movement, express, let loose and be free. Cici, in between playing all over Europe, will be in residence sharing her musical magic, BayBJane will be spreading sparkle wherever she goes, with her ethos of “caring hedonism” for this season, there will be a beautiful offerings of island based healers and teachers sharing their wisdom, the Once Upon A Time market will be in full flow, and as always, some new surprises…

We enter our seventh year with a strong intention. In numerology, seven is the number of spiritual awakening, mysticism, intuition, inner-wisdom, harmony and nature – of connection to the cosmic universe… Lifting the veil between human and spiritual life, as the two exist side by side… Amongst the significance of seven, there are seven directions, seven chakras, seven stars of the pleiades, seven colours of the rainbow… Since the start of the events we have been inspired by the rainbow prophecy, after cosmic curator Kim Booth, spent time with a Hopi elder in Hopiland in Arizona, visiting Dawa canyon (the canyon of the Ancient Ones), and learning of a time when all colours and tribes will come together with the intention to heal humanity and mother earth. This is our continued offering and may our lights shine bright this season

Cosmic Boat trip to Es Vedra, Ibiza:

May 31st / June 20th / September 21st / October 2nd

Cosmic Pineapple will again set sail to Es Vedra for four magical trips to the mythical rock with Saga, where we will anchor and hold a cacao ceremony and crystal sound healing meditation, whilst in the direct energy of Es Vedra.

Label: Drumcode
Cat. #: DC259

Release Date: April 22, 2022
Tracklist:
1. Dynamo

3. Strange Dreamz

Wehbba returns on Drumcode with a full three track release: ‘Dynamo’ shows a kind of techno rich of influences, representing the present and the future of the Sweden label. The tracklist begins with the title track, that’s a peculiar melting experiment of big room techno with goa, the whole result is fantastic and very attractive. As opposite ‘Ataraxia’ and ‘Strange Dreams’ reveal an intriguing mentalism where an adaptation mechanism begins: the thoughts begin to fit into the music each other, creating a fascinating connection.

Recently appeared in the stores and already sold out in a few of these, ‘4 EP’ by Roy Vision reveals to be another great house job by the French producer. Even if the A1 ‘Nina’s Talk’ shares a mellow and sad mood, the other tracks revitalize this music concept with a solid sound setup, a dancefloor attitude and a positive vibe. ‘La Danse Groove’ is pressed on the flip and seems to be the top notch production: the main melody chord kicks over since the beginning and is interfaced perfectly with the instrumental and the vocal.
